Never trust a dog to watch your lunch

The title has nothing to do with my post, but it’s true!
. Just wanted to share a little something to make you smile.
What you see, if my photo loads, is the birthday cake my younger son ordered for his fiancée. Today is her birthday! She received our card and gift yesterday, but saved it to open today. Just thankful it arrived on time, because our pony express can’t be trusted much anymore.
Our accountant paid a small fortune to overnight our tax papers, but it took the same amount of time as normal mail to arrive. The same thing happened last time.
Anyway, I want to wish Marie and Amber happy birthday wishes, too. They share the same birthday as our Aniella!

Anyway, that is an awesome cake.
It must have been made to order and I for one think it's brilliant.

You’re welcome!
My son found a great bakery, he thinks, where he helped to create the cake. The true test will come later on how it tastes.
Aniella was born and raised in Paris, so it may be a French name. It fits her perfectly.

@Ineeddentures Cakes and all bakery products are disgustingly expensive lately.
You should get Yvonne a cake like that, because you can have some if she lets you

See here in our small town about 6k population
We had an explosion of bakeries springing up of late.
Too many to mention
One lady does cakes like the one your son got.
What a price lol,
Yvonne would go nuts if I bought her one like that

That is a neat looking cake. Happy Birthday to her..of course our Marie and Amber as well very, very nice people. Anyway, speaking of a dog watching your lunch, when I had my dog..I made the mistake of dashing into a store for less than 5 minutes leaving a burger and the dog together..Many times he was weird about burgers and wouldn't eat them...not that day!

It would take me days to eat that but I'd sure love to try.

@DianneN I love sweets and that's why it's so difficult for me to lose weight. I'm still testing as a pre-diabetic so I'm still not too worried about it, though. I still eat what I want but cut back on how much I eat.
I've lost around 60 lbs total since last year in January. I still need to lose more, though.

@DaddyEvil Yes, I think cutting down on sugar and carbs is a must for being pre-diabetics. They also say to lose weight and exercise more. Good going! You obviously know what to do

@DianneN my favorite cake is probably a sheet cake with buttercream frosting and I eat the corner. Everyone in the family knows that the corner is mine!!!
