Hello again myLot friends.
I know that its been a while since I've been here, but life.....it has been so busy.
I hope that you are all doing well.
I am enjoying the transition of late winter to early spring. Every day is different, today has been a cold day, but they are calling for a nicer one tomorrow. That is a plus.
The last time that I posted, I let you know that I was lucky enough to win a trip at work. I was not certain that I would go, but I have convinced myself to try it. I am so very afraid of flying, that was the drawback, but I am going to try. My husband, son, daughter-in-law and the twins will all go as well. They will be on another flight and staying over at the next hotel. We will be able to join up and sight-see every day.
We are both waiting on a couple more slips before we can get into the accountant's office to have our income taxes done. But we have plenty of time for that yet.

Hiya Jim, great to see you again.
I hope that you and Yvonne are both doing well.
I am going to do my best to visit and spend more time here.
A dear friend of mine from here, emailed me a week or two ago, and I have been trying to sit down and log in ever since, but time flies.......and here we are now.

@Ineeddentures Yvonne is a strong willed person, I admire that.
She really has had a rough time this past 6 months.
I am sure that you did and are doing everything that you can to aid her.

Oh
Well
Yvonne is doing well now
But in October she wasn't
And November was a bit scary
Strep Pneumonia, almost 3 weeks in hospital, isolation, oxygen, and an influenza bug which made things worse
Touch and go
But her determination won the day
She had had a very strict medical regimen since she came home
It's working
She isn't to go out until the temperatures rise a bit but the last few days has seen her more active and out in the fresh air in the garden
No mixing with people just now though
And now she is looking forward to our usual summer holiday .May until September
Lose our login details did we?
I was away as well and experienced similar issues

@snowy22315 I am so happy for you that your son is there in your country, you missed having him around for too long.
I love early autumn weddings.
Our pace seems to slow down, here anyways, after Labour Day, as that is when the students return to school. A wedding during that time of the year is beautiful to enjoy, as a guest you feel less rushed and more likely to enjoy it fully, and of course if there is any indication of the lovely fall foilage that can be seen in the backgrounds of photos that makes it even more special.

Oh thanks, good to see you too!
We're all pretty good, those little girls sure are growing. They just turned 4 years old a month ago.
One of them is 4 going on 15, she sleeps in and likes to dance around the house-really hilarious.
How have you been?

I really hope you enjoy the trip! It's nice that your hubby, son and his family are able to get away and join you there. I hope it's a great experience for all of you!
Pretty has already done our taxes but she didn't tell me any more than that we'll get a nice refund soon.

If they hadn't made reservations and bought tickets I would have backed out.
I have such a crippling fear of flying, it is awful.
I hope that I do not make a fool out of myself and that I can find something to settle my tummy and nerves.
I did decline the whale watching trip that my employer is offering, as I may not be able to handle it, never being on the ocean, I don't know what to expect. I will wait until I arrive and see the weather, and then go with my family on our own.
My husband worked 2 part days last calendar year helping at his former workplace. They paid him by direct deposit, so he wasn't able to decline it. And as a result he has to wait for a T-4 slip. The company was bought out in December, and it seems that although all slips had to be in the mail this week, I somehow feel that they won't be since his former coworker advised him to go to his CRA account and download it from there. Only he worked for an American based company when we first moved here that sent him a letter a few years ago that their HR department's database was compromised and that his name, DOB, address and SIN could have been stolen. He had to contact the CRA and they closed his online account-for good. Now we wait.....but what's a few weeks of waiting, if it is a refund it will arrive, and if we owe, it will be paid on time.

@DaddyEvil I had a terrible experience sitting on a boat, in my younger days, with some other girls, sipping drinks in the hot sun while the boat was anchored, and eventually I realized that I wasn't able to handle so much sun and or drinks at the same time. I embarrassed myself terribly.
On the flight there, I will focus on the babies waiting for me, and that I have to stay brave, then coming home, I will just have to do it, and focus.

@Juliaacv I had two bad experiences flying when I was younger and really don't want to ever fly again. I understand. I hope things go better than you think.
I've been out in small boats on lakes here but never on the ocean. I THINK I'd do okay but you never know until you try.
Yup! You'll eventually get what's owed to you. It just may take a little longer than you'd like for it to reach your bank account.

That's so sweet of you to say.
I have told myself, that if the twins, who are just 4 years old, can take a flight and will be there when I arrive, then I have to take my turn and meet up with them and the rest of our family on the coast.
We will make it a great mini vacation.
But my fear is almost crippling, I will have to quietly tell them when I board that this is my first flight, just so that they know if I encounter any fears along the way.

I am so happy to see you again.
Thanks, another 6 or 7 weeks until I go.
My husband the rest of the family is flying out just hours ahead of me.
The Fairmount hotel, where I am staying, is said to be haunted.
Our son and his wife stayed there while visiting Victoria BC a few years ago.
They had a presence in their hotel room.
I hope that they put me in a ghost-free room.

@RasmaSandra They have been away twice and had such experiences.
In BC and in Ottawa when they stayed at a hostel, which was at one time, a jail.
Me, let me stay in a quiet room where I will just sleep tight.

Thanks.
I am pretty nervous as I realize that it is next month that I have to go.
When it was a few months away, I caved and after our son made reservations and got their tickets, how could I decline. They really want to celebrate this accomplishment with me out on the west coast.
And I suppose that will peak our interest in the western side of the country, as we do want to visit it after I retire.
I just cannot believe that I have a little over a year until I can retire.
I have been really busy doing my retirement planning and moving investments from one type to another.

Just take one day at a time. I wish you'd gotten the same flight as your family, but it'll work itself out.

Thanks.
My hours have changed, and I should be able to visit more often.
I just hope that my tummy and my nerves can withstand being in a tubular steel thing flying through the air.
The trip itself sounds wonderful, although I question if I will be able to withstand whale watching when I have to wear motion sickness bands on my wrists just to go out on the Great Lakes.
I might be in over my head.

I was getting ready to PM you and ask if you were okay. It's good to see your name here again. Where do you think you will go? (You don't have to tell me) I hope you're not going too far out of your own country. The world is pretty unsafe at the moment.

Thank you.
It will be the twin's first flight also.
Them and me.
These days the laws demand that they remain in a car seat until they are much older, but they did have to purchase special seats for them to take on the airplane.
They already have cute little neck resting cushions and new activities to load onto their little tablets to use during the flight.

Thank you, good to see you too.
I leave on Saturday April 18th, to take the air bus from my city here, London, to Toronto, where we stay at the Sheridan near the airport for the night. The next morning we fly out of Pearson International airport for Victoria BC. It is about a 5 hour flight, and I am beyond nervous. The mere thought of being in a steel tube flying through the air just makes me shudder. I don't know how you do it, and so often.
