13 days until spring. It was ***71*** yesterday; and we had some thunderstorms...in March!
Don't forget to set your clocks ahead tonight.
Cousin #2 wants me to move to Florida with her. I'm actually thinking about it. I don't know if we'd get along since she has her moments...It would be a monumental job to clean out this house and move just what I would need; such as, my recliner, tables, bookcases, etc. I would have someone to cook for me and help me. What do you think?
Breakfast - PB&J sandwich
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Fish sandwich, coleslaw, potato wedges - Now that it's Lent, we will receive non-meat lunches every Friday.
Dessert/Snack - 70% dark chocolate
Dinner - PB&J sandwich, low salt tortilla chips, yogurt, pineapple
What did you eat yesterday?

You’ve always loved Florida. I think the move would do you good. It’s easy to hire people to help cleat out the house such as letting them do an estate sale or sell as is. A moving company can pack and deliver your possessions as well as unpack. Just my thoughts.

@LindaOHio Exactly! And she’ll have the company, too.

@DianneN That's one thing I'm hesitant about. She made a big deal about how secluded the place was, no neighbors...I hope I'm not too invasive.

I would have someone to look after me. Cousin #2 did such a good job of that when she worked for me. I'm seriously considering it.

You need someone who can cook and clean for you and you do get along most of the time. Just remember she's touchy and try not to set her off unless you're ready to move again. *shrug*
I had another migraine yesterday so didn't eat anything until yesterday evening when I ate two slices of bread.

I'm so sorry you had a migraine. I hope you're feeling better.
Yes, I'm seriously considering moving down there. She takes good care of me.

Why don't you plan a visit first and see how that goes.

I know it would feel like a pain to take all of that just for a visit, but if you move and hate it, what choice would you have?

@GardenGerty Exactly, I remember Linda once saying the cousin got mad at her for days over some French fries.

Unfortunately I would need my recliner, rollator, shower chair, etc. If I move, that will be it.

Yesterday I had a Fermented Pancake style dish named "Dosa".
I had it with a chutney of Coconut and some curd and a legume with some crushed Bottle Gourd (We call it as Sambhar).
I believe that you would have shown a great courage in eating the 70% dark chocolate.
We once ate 90% dark and well, we had to show a big courage in that!
Lent sounds similar to "Navratri(Nine Nights)" of Fasting and abstaining not only from Non Veg but also Onion and Garlic.
It comes twice in the year for us.

The 70% dark chocolate is supposed to be good for the brain, blood sugar and blood pressure. It actually isn't too bad.

@LindaOHio It's already dark until 7:30 pm, we eat dinner and then watch TV, extra light is almost annoying.

I know the Florida climate would be great for you. And, I think if cousin #2 brought it up it’s obvious she’s really thought about it. I really like the idea for you, Linda. I’m glad you are thinking about it. It would be an adjustment, but it’s great you are open to the idea of it.
Yesterday, I had blueberry goat cheese, a ham and cheese croissant, and two pears.

No more cold and s**w would be the number one reason. It does get cold down there but not as often.

I'm the wrong person to ask but I've got to tell you that if it's warm weather and calm seasons you're after southern New Mexico is a great place to live, the worst weather you'd get is an occassional sand storm but at least harsh winters are extremely rare and I can't recall ever hearing about tornadoes. Every few decades this region gets a hail storm but I haven't seen one in about 5 years.
I have heard a lot about the many hurricanes that Florida gets, that would scare the bageezas outta me.

Yeah, arid desert warm is definitely different from humid warm. I met a GI some years ago who put the whole thing in perspective, he was from FL, he told me that in FL when you go swimming you stay warm even after you get out of the water but here if we go swimming we get cold the minute we step out of the water. I don't know why but I think I get it.

I've considered the hurricanes. Hubby and I have been to the Keys several times and wanted to move there. I can't take these NE Ohio winters anymore. I've been to the SW. I really don't care for it there. I prefer the ocean.

I have always tried to practice the Lenten habit of meatless Fridays.
It is a good idea if you went and did a trial run with her, after she gets settled in of course.
It would be a shame to move there after getting everything that you have in place now.

@Tampa_girl7 Thank you. Part of me thinks I'm too old now to make a major change. I'd rather stay where I am except for the brutal winters here.

It's here and started off with a ham sandwich, ice cream sandwicn and a Ding Dong coming up plus Dr Pepper Zero, Well, moving to Florida is odd you have your cold spells and then your great humidity and hear and then hurricane warnings. However, you could consider it. Where in Florida?

Hooray for groceries! She's in Homosassa Florida. A great place to see a ton of manatees with all the springs around. Yes, I'm thinking about the hurricanes. The same as when hubby and I wanted to move to the Keys.

I think you should really consider it Linda. It would be nice to have nice weather, company (even if she has her moments. We all do
) As @DainneN said, moving companies will come and pack up everything you need. You would only have to decide what you actually want.

@LindaOHio Homosassa is a beautiful area! It's a growing area (urban sprawl is slowly moving northward from Tampa), but it hasn't destroyed the "small town" feel of Homosassa yet. And, a lot of that area is protected areas, so growth will be limited even long into the future. Manatees are everywhere there, especially since the nuclear power plant discharges warm water into the Gulf. Although I wonder if it is still that way, since they are in the process of decommissioning the nuclear power plant? One of my favorite state parks is Homosassa Springs State Park, and I visit there at least once a year. And Three Sisters Springs is a favorite manatee viewing area. I was lucky enough to swim with the manatees there many times before they banned it. But there is still a boardwalk around the springs so that you can still see all the manatees; you just can't swim with them anymore.

@moffittjc There are all kinds of opportunities for fishing, manatee viewing, etc. She's in a great place; and the cost of living there is 16% below the Florida average. She said she picked up bargains in produce and saw affordable steak prices, etc.

It's an interesting thought to move in with your cousin but you should think carefully about it. If there is enough space that you can get away from each other from time to time, then it might work. But, if for some reason it didn't, then that would create even more problems.
