Do you buy bottled water to drink?

It makes sense that many plastics will jump in price since they are at the mercy of high energy costs, etc. due to the type of plastic they are made from. I was surprised to read that nearly 9 out of 10 Americans buy bottled water to drink, and one out of five only drink bottled water. The prices of bottled water are on the upsurge and supposedly will climb higher. I will enclose the article for anyone wanting to read it--it's a quick read.

We don't buy bottled water unless we're desperate when we're out somewhere. I don't like the water here but it's prefectly drinkable. I'm not going to buy bottled water. It's goes against every fibre of my being - because I'm so old!

@MarieCoyle Could you not just fill a bottle to take with you?

Judy, I keep a few bottles of it here for when we will be gone all day, we each take one with us. But it seems so many people actually have to buy water to drink, as theirs is undrinkable. I have a filter I can use for water as well.

I have a water filter pitcher, but I do keep a small amount of bottled water in case it's needed and/or for trips.

I only buy it in a pinch. I actually will buy a gallon of drinking water and pour in my personal water cups because a gallon of water at the store costs less than one half liter bottle of water. And I would rather drink out of a cup with a lid. I hate crinkly sounding plastic water bottles.

I know, those water bottles make a funny type of noise, don't they?

I’ll continue to buy bottled water as I can afford it. My water is so disgusting from the old pipes, that I have to. At this point, I don’t even feel guilty over buying plastic. At least I recycle them.

I know you said your water is sickening. I would buy water in your case, too. I do keep some bottles of water here. Twice we were told not to drink the water in the last few years for a week at a time, always in the summer when the water table levels are so low and it tastes and smells nasty. I do have a water filter pitcher we use for daily use, too. Where I used to live, the water sometimes smelled terrible and we couldn't drink it. Nasty stuff.

No. We pay for drinking water to be delivered to our taps at home so why would I buy anything else? I just do not understand why people pay extra for water from somewhere else and then just use the drinking water they are already paying for to flush the toilet etc. And of course all those plastic bottles!

@MarieCoyle Of course if you are stuck away from home and there isn't any other option then you have to. But I do wonder whether people are creating more health problems by drinking out of plastic all the time too!

@Fleura I worry about all the plastic, too. It can't be good for us. And so, so many foods we buy are wrapped in plastic in some way, plastic film, plastic bags, plastic everything! Ugh.

Our water that is piped into our homes here is decent water so we drink that. I don’t like to drink out of plastic bottles. But sometimes when we are not home for hours if I want water there isn’t much other way to have some.

would likely happened. And also sudden high prices of bottled water was due to low supply and high demand.

The only time I buy bottled water is if I am out away from home and haven't brought a water bottle or run out. I can't see paying for water. I know the prices are going up. Some plastic can also be toxic.

I don't buy bottled water but I do have filtered water available in my fridge. Thankfully I don't have to worry about the rising cost of bottled water.

I don't drink bottled water. I have filtered water from the fridge. There are too many plastic bottles that don't get recycled.

We drink bottled water, because we like sparkling plain water. They bring a case of 24 bottles (glass bottles) every two weeks, more often if we need. We give back the empty glass bottles to recycle. This service exists from ages here in Italy.
