Let Me Breathe the Air

Ah, what a day. I don't know how long has been, but it's been a LONG time since I had my air ducts cleaned out. Well, today, I had that done.
My house is older, built in 1950. It would be extremely expensive to get new ducts installed; and, since they don't need to be replaced (they aren't in bad shape), why bother? So I had them cleaned instead.
While it wasn't all that cheap (about $550), it was much cheaper than the original estimate, which had included nearly $2,000 for "sealing" the ducts and work under the house in the crawl space. As the technicians didn't have to go into the crawl space, they took $200 off the cleaning price.
Best of all, it's good to have them clean in hopes that my allergies will improve.
As that line in Little River Band's "Cool Change" says, "let me breathe the air." Yes!!

I truly hope that it helps with your allergies! I finally stopped my ''crying, leaky eyes'' today. Still sort of sneezy but the meds have finally kicked in. And I won't be missing any doses, for sure!

We had the ducts cleaned at the other house right before we moved. It cost around $400 about 10 years ago. When the workmen were here last summer, I asked about getting the ducts cleaned on this house. One of them took one of the ducts down and looked in it and said they must have been cleaned fairly recently. I told him we'd been here almost 10 years and he shook his head and told us they looked fine, especially for that long without being cleaned.

I do hope this improves your air quality. I'm so lucky not to have allergies.
