Ah, what a day. I don't know how long has been, but it's been a LONG time since I had my air ducts cleaned out. Well, today, I had that done. My house is older, built in 1950. It would be extremely expensive to get new ducts installed; and, since they don't need to be replaced (they aren't in bad shape), why bother? So I had them cleaned instead. While it wasn't all that cheap (about $550), it was much cheaper than the original estimate, which had included nearly $2,000 for "sealing" the ducts and work under the house in the crawl space. As the technicians didn't have to go into the crawl space, they took $200 off the cleaning price. Best of all, it's good to have them clean in hopes that my allergies will improve. As that line in Little River Band's "Cool Change" says, "let me breathe the air." Yes!!

We had the ducts cleaned at the other house right before we moved. It cost around $400 about 10 years ago. When the workmen were here last summer, I asked about getting the ducts cleaned on this house. One of them took one of the ducts down and looked in it and said they must have been cleaned fairly recently. I told him we'd been here almost 10 years and he shook his head and told us they looked fine, especially for that long without being cleaned.

That’s great, especially the fact that you got an honest person NOT trying to tell you to spend money.

I truly hope that it helps with your allergies! I finally stopped my ''crying, leaky eyes'' today. Still sort of sneezy but the meds have finally kicked in. And I won't be missing any doses, for sure!

I hope it helps. I have a mini split. The filters need to be cleaned but I don't think I have ducts to mess with.

As dirty as it was (and the technician said it was nothing compared to some other houses, especially those with pets), I prayerfully will improve.

At least you do not need to replace the ducts, but surely they needed a good cleaning. I think you breath better now.

It’ll probably take a day or two but yes, I think it’ll help. It always has in the past.

I hope that helps your allergies. I had the dryer vent cleaned last year. It was full of lint.

Thanks. I hope it works too, because I hate the nasal spray.
