About the Sailboat and Stuff

The owner appeared two days ago with friends or family and pushed it close to our sea wall and anchored it. He was supposed to have had it removed today, but it’s still here. I needed a day off from here today, so spent most of late morning and afternoon at the pool with hubs and some friends and new friends. Most of the talk was about the sailboat. A group of us snagged dinner reservations at a restaurant that usually doesn’t take reservations for under eight people. We are a party of six and were accepted thanks to one of the men who knows the owner. We should be in for a treat. French food and no menu! I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday.

It should be very interesting. He only cooks what he has on hand from what I’ve heard and no one complains.

@DianneN Sounds like a good idea actually. I would love to go to a place like that. I wouldn't complain, unless it was Mussels

@Ineeddentures I never eat mussels, but my husband loves them. No mussels were served, and the dinner turned out to be exceptional!

That is really rude that the owner hasn’t removed the sailboat yet. Hopefully, he’ll get it sooner rather than later. Enjoy your wonderful dinner!

It’s really an eyesore. Maybe when the tide comes in he can move it. Thanks, but I won’t pass judgement until I actually try the food. No menu scares me a bit.

All I know about French food is snails which I have no interest in trying but I'm curious about what else they cook, do you eat snails?

I used to eat escargot years ago, but no more. The owner went berserk in the kitchen and came out between courses to ask how we liked each one. He was so nice and the food was exceptional.

I’m very curious about dinner and hope we like whatever we are served. Yes, I recognized that guy immediately from when I last saw him running away. To be fair, it was pouring out.

We have all kinds of boats on the water. Sailboats require a lot of work and knowledge. Thanks so much. We truly enjoyed our meal.

@DianneN .........I'm a foodie and would love to try it. All the pics I see make it look so relaxing but with my fear of the water I doubt I will ever be scratching that one off my to do list.

As far as French food is concerned, all I can say is that it’s a gastronomical pleasure, but very expensive. We enjoyed every morsel we had. I hope you get to try it one day. Never go sailing! It’s the most frightening experience I’ve ever done. You have to be on the alert so the boom won’t hit you on the head. Any other boat is more appealing to me, even a row boat.

@DianneN - I would boycott anyway for the too cruel method it's produced. I hope that France will follow the ban.
