You haven’t seen me here much lately, because of the usual. I’ve been extremely busy.
My granddaughter, DIL, and son have been enjoying London. The perfume I wanted from Harrod’s is no longer available. My granddaughter felt so badly, but I told her not to worry about it.
We had an awesome time at the wedding in Miami. It actually took place on the street where my nephew lives, but he was in the Cayman Islands on business, so we couldn’t see him.
My friend Sandi is in New York for her treatment. We drove her to the airport on Monday and will pick her up later today. We want to make time to visit her husband at rehab. He’s mentally sharp, but a physical mess.
We drove my brother to the airport, yesterday. I was so depressed that he was leaving and cried. All my friends went back north, too.
So, all I have been doing is placing things on a guest bedroom bed for hubs to pack up for me. Decisions, decisions…. Our younger son wanted a list of food to fill our refrigerator for when we fly home next Thursday. Dinner with him that night at our favorite pizza restaurant! His fiancé leaves for Italy the next day, so we’ll get to say goodbye to her.
Lots of phone calls for putting our cable on vacation mode, car transportation, a ride to the airport, etc. Lots of eating out, shopping, and an appointment with my fairy hair lady! The massive cleaning will begin little by little. I’m getting very excited about returning home, but as usual, very sad to leave this little paradise of ours.
And the boat in our backyard is gone, finally!

You're making me feel tired just reading what you still have to do before you are ready to leave for Connecticut. If I could take some of the burden off you, I'd certainly try. I hope everything goes well and you're packed and on your way shortly. I hope you have a good trip "home".

@DianneN As long as you don't just disappear until the next time you come back to Florida.
We all miss you when you do that.

@DaddyEvil I promise I won’t. If I can’t be here every day, I will try to stop by at least once a week. Thank you for saying that.

The boat owner tried having a large boat pull it out of the deep rut it made in the sand, but it didn’t work. I felt so bad for him. We saw it there when we returned from the wedding late Saturday night, but when we woke up in the morning it was gone!
They stopped making the perfume

Greetings
There's no place like home.
You surely have been busy.
Lots going on.
Your life is really interesting
Although the massive cleaning, well, not sure I would enjoy that.
I would pay someone....

Leaving for the airport in 5 minutes. Our friend is due in shortly.
No good help down here that I am familiar with. No one cleans more meticulously than I do. Everything has to be spotless and sanitized while the condo is closed up until next December. Up north, my cleaning lady starts back up May 6th. I don’t have the same kind of worries keeping the house closed up. My son checks it multiple times a week. Thank heavens he lives nearby.

Nobody cleans like I do either.
Army habits still with me after all these years.
Go and collect your friend

I hope the owner of the boat picked it up. You sure have been busy. I was busy for the last two days. My one grandson brought his son and his brother's daughter here to visit for two days. We took the two great grandchildren to play putt putt golf. They had a good time and enjoyed that. Tomorrow before they leave we will go to the Wild life safari. My great grand daughter loves the goats there.

It's almost time; I wish you a safe journey, and I hope your trip home will be a good one considering airports these days. Cannot wait to hear from you when you say you're home in Connecticut. Did you let Orville know you're going up north again?

Thanks so much. There’s been a lot of flying going on lately between family and friends, and no one has had a problem with any of the airports, thank goodness.
I am so worried about Orville. I haven’t seen him in about 4 weeks!!! I think I heard him chirp a few days ago, but that’s it. He usually comes to say goodbye. I pray that he’s okay.

It's bittersweet leaving Florida to go back North and so much to do to get ready to leave and have your house ready for return.
Glad the family is having a good time in London even if you didn't get your favorite perfume.
Hope Sandi's treatment and trip to NY went ok and that you get to visit her hubby in rehab,

Goodbyes can often be difficult, and sad. I don't like goodbyes very much, either. But as I am sure you know, they are part of life.
I'm sure you have your departure down to a science as it seems you are extremely organized. Are you far from the airport? I know it can be very difficult sometimes to go without a car. I guess you could rent one and then just return it to the airport when you fly out, but I am sure you've already considered that. Plus, from what I have heard rental cars are really hard to get right now, so it's probably the best way. The main thing is to travel safely and not be stressed out. You will be glad to get home and see your son, and enjoy your summer that's not in the extreme heat of Florida.

Goodbyes are never easy. I have one friend left here and the rest are acquaintances.
Yes, we are both used to packing, cleaning, and closing up, but it’s still a chore. I’d rather myLot.
We are less than 15 minutes from the airport, a true miracle, since we are always picking people up and dropping them off. The couple who watches our place will drive us to the airport. Otherwise, we’d use Uber or call for a taxi. Chuck, our friend who isn’t well, usually drives us.
The good news is that the transport company called today and will be picking up our car on Tuesday. So we will have it longer than expected. We will probably get it delivered on Friday which is fine, because we have 2 other cars at home.
Our younger son will have the car to pick us up at the airport. We’re going to drop him off at his house, see his kitty cats, and drive home. Then we’ll all meet for pizza. It’s becoming our ritual. And you are right about the extreme heat of Florida! CT is no picnic either in July and August.

@MarieCoyle Practice makes perfect
I am positive you loved going to Florida and how nice of your daughter to send you a ticket to visit! I understand your predicament.
My father drove us all to visit my grandfather one summer. It was so hot and humid. I also got sun poisoning and went home with brown crud all over my face. I was 16 then and was so embarrassed showing up to a friend’s sweet 16 party. I will never forget it.

Somehow, I just knew you had it all organized down to the last minute! And nice that you will have your car longer than you thought you would.
I have family in St. Pete. In normal times, before I was needed to care for my son, I was in Florida several times a year for extended visits. My daughter would call and say, Mom, I will send a ticket, we want you to visit again, and of course I would go. It's not really possible now with the change in circumstances and i miss it. However, I HATE visiting Florida in the summertime. Just way, way too hot. It's hot enough here in Illinois.

That is sad the perfume is no longer available. I wonder if some store/online site like Amazon would have it?
