We arrived safely and are home!!! When we left Florida yesterday, hubs realized he left his phone in our friend’s car, but caught him before he pulled away from dropping us off at the airport.
We had a delay while they worked on the parking brakes, so we arrived in NY about an hour later than expected.
As we left the NY airport, hubs realized he left his phone on the plane. Panic struck and he left me outside with our luggage. My son was waiting for us, so I told him what happened as he loaded our few pieces of luggage into the car.
I went back inside and spoke to a lovely woman. She made a call, hub’s phone was found, and she picked it up and gave it to me.
But where was poor, frantic hubs? Somewhere in the airport and of course not allowed to go through security, nor board the plane. I went to the car, told my son, who went into the airport to find hubs. He found him immediately and told him the good news.
The traffic back was horrible. We took side roads through gorgeous Greenwich, CT. We knew we’d be about 30 minutes late for our pizza reservation, so hubs called on his newly retrieved phone and told them of our dilemma. Luckily, they know us very well and never take reservations, but do so only for us, and were happy to comply.
Dropped son off at his house, drove the car, which was our SUV, back to our house. Our shipped car had already arrived and our son accepted it and locked it, before he drove our other car to the airport.
We were home for 12 minutes, then met him and Aniella for pizza. What a day, but we laugh about it, now that it’s over.
All I did today was feed the birds, pull some weeds, unpack, and am now relaxing outdoors with my Friday date night martini. Hubs is deciding what to pick up for dinner. My nice next door neighbor stopped by to welcome us home and will be by with a gift for us. I have one for her, too. And Luna, the white fluffy cotton-like puppy stopped by to look for me. Unfortunately, I was unpacking and cleaning. Hubs fixed our mailbox that the snowplow knocked down.
So…….. I’m here and thought I’d stop by while I could. So much to do besides pulling weeds!

Oh my, your husband seems to forget his stuff all the time. This is the reason why I do not give anymore a double of our keys to my husband. He lost the keys in Switzerland and I do not want to have to change the key lock here where we live now.
I am glad you are safely back home now.

So glad to know you are home safe and sound. Doesn't it feel a bit strange to have been in Florida and suddenly be in Connecticut? Glad you have your martini and can relax; I hope you'll have a great weekend.

I’ve already looked in the wrong drawers for things. Hubs couldn’t remember where the water was for the coffee
. I told him we use a special tap for purified water. Heaven help us!

Funny thing ! your husband left his phone behind twice and retrieved it ! The martini can ease the weariness of the journey in a way.

You just made me feel exhausted reading what you've done since you got back to Connecticut! I need a nap now!
I'm glad you're home and got your hubbies phone back for him. I'd be lost without mine!

@DaddyEvil No, he was beside himself. It’s like your life in your hand, especially when you have it.

Losing a phone is the pits in terms of inconvenience it causes.
It has everything we need to survive nowadays.
We need luck too to get it back.
I often check my pockets to make sure phone, wallet, keys etc. are with me.
During international flights, we have to offload all these and more onto a tray.
So one has to be present in the moment! Never take our eyes off too.

You have had a busy and semi stressful couple of days, but you are back and all is well. With so much on your mind..hard to keep track of things like phones.

Would you believe that I forgot my phone and smartwatch Saturday night? I had showered and had to rush out of the house to get to our son’s in time for dinner. Hubs would not stop the car to let me go into the house to get it! And after all I did to retrieve his phone!

I'm glad you got back home safe and your husband got his phone back. I had once dropped my phone somewhere in a nearby city and never got it back. Now I don't carry my phone while going for morning walk.
