What a difference an extra fan makes.

So, I mentioned the other day my air conditioning is on the fritz. In Oklahoma this time of year it is hot, humid, and disgustingly muggy. I have a fan, but it wasn’t doing much. I borrowed my dad’s, which he told me just to keep, and what a difference it made. It’s a tower fan that rotates, but I keep it pointed straight at me. I’m still going to bug the apartment manager (and complain to housing if it takes long) to fix the air conditioner, but for now I’ll be good. It’s not cold, but it’s more than bearable.
A couple of years ago it took 18 days to fix my air conditioner in the middle of May, and it was miserable. I couldn’t even complain because they needed to get on the roof, and it was raining and storming. Plus, the part they needed was taking forever to arrive. I remember my friend coming over, talking to me, and in the middle of the conversation simply yelling, “It’s so hot!” I had the fan on me at the time. I encouraged her to come sit by me because I loved her, but I wasn’t moving the fan to face her.
She knows I get sick in the heat, so she understood.
What kind of fans do you have? Do you use them often? How many of you are lucky enough to have ceiling fans?

Just now
I have a big fan just in case, but Reynaud’s is a good thing to have in the summer. All I have to do is drink something cold or make some of that fake sorbet and BANG, I’m shivering.
I do have a little tabletop fan that has a timer on it (think Honeywell makes it). Love having that on at night.

Girl, you have got to get out of that place...no matter what it takes. Maybe the church or your family could take up a collection for you to move to a tiny house or something. It is ridiculous what they expect you to put up with there. I have ceiling fans,in almost every room and a big tower fan, plus a small fan. I also have a dehumidifier which comes in handy during the summer..it is a small one, but removes a ton of water from the atmosphers. Actually I should probably plug that in now..although It isn't very humid at the moment. Maybe I will wait until I can feel it.

I have a Dyson tabletop fan on the bedside table for when I need it. I also have a small random tabletop one that I keep pointed at me here at the table. I'm too old to try to muscle it out with crazy heat/humidity but I do try to keep the windows open and fan on as often as I can.

That sounds rough, I'm sorry.
I keep a small 18 inch fan on when I am working.
My little office needs to have the air moved, the monitors and laptop kick off a fair bit of heat.
I even use it in the wintertime.
I hope that they are able to make the repairs without you having to wait so long again.
