Hello again all you good people of Mylot
Yvonne has a hospital tomorrow , today now, Thursday afternoon
I have no idea what exactly will happen
Neither does Yvonne
But I sure hope that the word Bronchoscopy doesn't get uttered
Yvonne doesn't want to know if she has cancer.
She made that crystal clear already so I hope the Doctor listened to what she said and understood why she said what she said.
So Yvonne really does need some good luck wishes for tomorrow
Oh , I disagree with Yvonne about this. But I will support her fully.

@Ineeddentures Oh dear that is a big burden. I had a passenger not long ago with severe COPD; he could barely walk from his garden gate to the car. A really terrible situation.

I think the doctor has a ethical obligation to tell her. I hope it all goes well, and my thoughts will be with her.

@Ineeddentures If they have the right to know does that also encompass the right to not know?
Still if the doctor doesn't tell her it's some other problem then s/he would either have to say nothing (in which case it would be obvious that it was cancer) or tell her an outright lie.

With one caveat
Yes, a doctor in the UK is generally obligated to disclose a cancer diagnosis to the patient, as patients have the right to know about their medical condition and treatment options. However, there can be ethical considerations if family members request that the diagnosis be kept confidential.

It would only apply if she asked directly what the tests and CT Scan showed
Well the C word was off the table for discussion with Yvonne

@Ineeddentures - I know in the UK the doctor has to inform the patient, not here and usually they prefer to talk with a relative first.

A doctor here would have to inform her unless I tell them she doesn't want to know

Well what she wants she might not always get.
And if she had got Cancer the Doc would be obliged to tell me if she didn't want to hear it

I think it’s fair to respect her wishes, even without knowing exactly what she has. Still, I believe you should be aware of her diagnosis so you can better support her no matter the outcome. I hope her test tomorrow brings good news for both of you and that she continues to get better each day.

I agree with her @Ineeddentures sometimes the determination not to have cancer and not letting a doctor tell you otherwise is the best choice.

Thanks for your kind words and thoughts
I think after her illness last October and November she came home determined to make the most of every day whilst she still can.
I think her attitude is excellent although I do think she needs to know if what the CT scan showed is infact cancer.
She disagrees,

Found this after your post about Yvonne not having cancer, I am glad it worked out as best as it could and wish her the chance to get better, I know nothing about her condition does she require a lot of medication? Anyway there is a place for her in my prayers,
