Yes, that’s not a rabbit in the photo, it’s a rooster. I saw that in front of a restaurant when I was in Pigeon Forge last week, and I just had to take a picture of it. I’ve been MIA here, and I apologize. But wow, when I get into a rabbit hole…. Which one? Well, it started when I saw that Nitto Santapaola died. Yeah, who’s that? He was an Italian mafioso. So I started reading up on the Italian mafia (as opposed to the American mob, which gets endless coverage here). Somehow (I guess the “outlaw” bit) YouTube got me to the Wild West Extravaganza videos. I subscribe to the videos and to the podcasts. I love those things. Josh Taylor is the host, and he’s two things: detailed in research, and funny as all get-out. One of the podcasts was talking about outlaw Billy Brooks, and Josh started in on how he was the great-great-great-grandfather of Garth Brooks. He does that a lot, pulling jokes like that (most of which are obviously lies, like saying one outlaw was the inspiration for a novel written a hundred years before the outlaw was born ). Of course, researching the most covered songs didn’t help, given that Bob Dylan shows up on that list frequently and he did a song about John Wesley Hardin. So anyway, I’ll be back at the music next Monday, with a double-barreled tribute to Sir Paul McCartney for his 84th birthday. One list will have songs that mention (directly or indirectly) either the Beatles or one of the Beatles, and the other will be my favorite Paul/Beatles/Wings songs. I can hear you screaming “stay in the rabbit hole” already. So now I’m stuck in the Wild West.

When I was young, somehow I never expected the Beatles to ever get old.

I know. Paul sounds awful now, but he’s still Paul!

You know I’m a huge history buff. The settling of the west, the California gold rush, the Oregon Trail… I’ve read so much on those it’s ridiculous. And I still do. So I do understand those rabbit holes!! I look forward to reading and celebrating Sir Paul. I had wondered what was happening but you had said something once about an idea, so I knew you were more than likely working on a project!

I still want to use Judy’s idea, because it’s fabulous. But it is deep research. And I love that…just so many tangents to distract me.

@FourWalls Umm. I'm very flattered but I've forgotten what my idea was, if indeed I'm the Judy of which you speak (see what I did there @AmbiePam?)

@JudyEv — you mentioned songs that had been covered the most times.

I remember all of the Beatles. I guess even they have to get older.

I cannot believe that Sir Paul is 84, and Sir Ringo Star is 85. I wonder why when we are young we cannot imagine our idols getting old.

Billy Brooks. Is he any relation to Babbling? I’m looking forward to your tribute to Sir Paul. So many great songs to choose from, that I wouldn’t know where to start. Amazing the Beatles sung about getting to 64, as if it was an old age, and here he is 20 years beyond. Shame there are only two left, but let’s celebrate them still being here.

It rings a bell when you said Paul McCartney then you mentioned the Beatles. I now remember my sister always play their songs and I grew up listening to it. The song I first like was Hey Jude.
