I'll Do it Myself

My wife will be out of town, as per the usual, for her annual gambling trip with her cousin later this month, and on a whim, I decided to make a trip for myself as well. So, I booked a campsite at one of our usual stomping grounds and I will spend that time with my dad—sort of an impromptu Father's Day get together, I suppose.
I'll pull the camper alone and the place will be all mine. This will actually be the first-time camping without my wife. Dad's got his own camper.
It should be a great time. We always have fun together, and we both enjoy camping very much, plus it's a great area with lots to do, so we'll definitely make the most of it.

That sounds like a great way to spend time together. I have never been camping but it's something we've talked about.

@porwest We've been talking about actually camping but I think both still count. Hubby thinks I'll end up glamping because I don't like bugs lol

It's worth it. For me, I always wanted one. I finally, a few years ago, said I can afford it, and I am entering my "good" years before the bad ones kick in...better do it now and just have fun. We have a 39' Keystone Passport Elite and love it.

As much as I think it's important to spend quality time with our significant others, I think it's also just as important to have alone or "me" time as well. I hope you and your dad have a blast when you go camping together.
My son and I do a camping trip every year together, where it's just the two of us. We spend a week backpacking and camping in remote wildernesses, and it's some of the best quality time and some of the best memories we've ever had.

That sounds like an absolutely fantastic way to spend the time! An impromptu camping trip with your dad is the perfect opportunity to kick back, relax, and make some great new memories. Enjoy the peace, the great outdoors, and that special father-son time! Have a blast!
