Oh, my. I hope they can find the reason for the fever very soon. I know how that goes, if tests are warranted it can take awhile. I will keep praying.

The hospital was definitely the place to start. He got sent to an even bigger hospital.

@rsa101 Yes, he was on the Intensive Care Unit for two days.

@GardenGerty I hope he’s doing better now. I think being sent to a much larger place means they wanted more intensive care for him. Hopefully, he’ll improve in the coming days.

That's so odd @GardenGerty I hope you asked them which route they took, I would think they should have been there before you.

@rebelann No, I got a head start, to run by my house and get some stuff like paperwork that we needed and make sure the cats were in, porch lights on. After I left he still had an IV of antibiotics to finish and the ambulance had to be called in. I was like five minutes ahead is all.

Very sorry to hear that. I hope it is something that can be managed.

We are hoping so, so that he does not end up on dialysis.

@snowy22315 The bigger hospital knows their stuff and managed very well. No dialysis. They had some issues to overcome but got him stabilized.

I think it was for the best that they sent him clear to St. Teresa's. Harder drive for me, time wise, but good people. Also some things came up in discussion that will let us address another problem he has been having.

Thanks. They knew it was a bad UTI before we left Marion. I actually was told that he would likely have emergency dialysis. With help and God's grace we avoided that. The hospital knew their stuff well.

His kidney function was tanking. He got shipped off to a big hospital quite a ways away, on the west edge of Wichita.

UTI and sepsis. They did a good job there, though.

An infection throughout your body dampens appetite too.
