It's Never Too Hot For Coffee

United States

Happy Hot Monday Everyone! today is probably going to be the less hot day of the upcoming week. From the looks of the forecast it's going to be beyond hot and go into triple digits on some days. Seems as if Europe broke through their stifling heat wave and now it's hitting us. I always have my fingers crossed that we don't lose power when it gets so hot as I'm perfectly comfortable in my a/c. I had my breakfast awhile ago but I'm still sipping my coffee. I woke up not feeling 100% today so my day will just happen. No plans and nothing that has to be done. I don't feel sick, just blah. Good thing we have a nice salad planned for dinner tonight so that's a no cooking meal. I can make a meal out of salad with all the fixings I love. Our pup Mush goes to the vet when my daughter gets off from work. She is ready to get her stitches out after her surgery two weeks ago. I'm so happy that she's doing well and her spunky attitude is back. Can't say there's much else going on. How was your weekend? Anything exciting coming up for you this week?

Today sounds like the less hot day of the week in my neck of the woods also. But never, never is it too hot for coffee. Actually, my favorite coffee is mid afternoon on the hottest day you can imagine. It tastes so good then. Great that you've got a co-cook meal for supper, I am planning one for mid week. Glad that sweet little Mushie is getting her stitches out. The only 'exciting' part of my week is that Ron doesn't have to watch the girls. They are on vacation this week. He was like a lost puppy this morning, but when he finally came up with a plan, he spent 3 or 4 hours vacuuming, cleaning, washing windows and washing the car. I'm sure that it will look great, it always does after he finishes with it, plus he saves us on the charges that it would cost for detailing.

Wow Ron certainly made good use of his time since the girls are on vacation and your car is sparkling. I could use him to do all that inside my house If i have coffee mid afternoon it's decaf. Sad but a regular cup of magic beans keeps me awake at night. Guess old age is really catching up with me Mush did well getting her stitches out so life is back to normal I'm not looking forward to hearing that our upcoming week will be so hot but it's summer. Gotta deal with it. At least its not snow

@Marilynda1225 I agree, because we did have snow until only a couple of months ago I swear. Wednesday, the first, is Canada Day. It should be a mid week holiday, but a coworker has an out of town family issue to deal with, so I took his shift. He has a family member who isn't expected to make it the week, and he didn't want to tell our employer, although they would have given him the time off with pay, but I respect his choice.

@Juliaacv You are such a kind soul Julia to take your co-workers shift while he takes care of family matters. Our big holiday is Saturday but it's supposed to be the hottest day of the week.

I have a couple of doctor appointments this week, but otherwise not much is going on this week. My dad and Diana will be going to the annual Fourth of July get together on my dad’s side of the family. It’s too hot for me to be there since everyone spends so much time outside.

I don't blame you for passing on the barbecue. From what I see the heat is going to be brutal.

Our temps here are gradually moving upwards after a few days of 50ish rainy weather. It's supposed to be up to the low 90s by the 4th. Ugh! We are having about the same thing for dinner. Fruit, avocados, and cottage cheese. But I will have salmon with mine. They don't care for it. Oh, I 'm glad Mush pup is doing okay after her surgery.

I'm glad wee Mush is doing so well Here we're in a comfy cooldown, not that you would consider it comfy but to go from 100+ temps to 97 is comfy to a desert rat like me. I shouldn't laugh but I'm so used to getting temps like 103f to 108f and in some years 110+ that I do but that isn't fair because most folks don't live in deserts where there are extreme heat indexes and extreme arid climates. I drink coffee almost every morning, once in a while I opt for a cup of cacao instead. Hmmm, excitement, what's that??

Yes and I always pray I never have to feel the kinds of winters you and others talk about @Marilynda1225 I'd have to hibernate for months to deal with that kinda cold.

@rebelann I guess we both have to deal with extreme temperatures depending on the seasons. Yes, it can get so cold during the winter months especially if there's a blizzard, snow and icy conditions. At least with the heat it doesn't need to be shoveled

I think I need a cup of coffee. I have lots of "little" things to get done while Bob is napping, but I do not want to. I need a nap myself.

Our heatwave has been really bad, I kept cold coffee in a pot to lower the temperature of my freshly made coffee. This morning is cooler.

@Marilynda1225 - I hope the heatwave is really over, it's still hot this afternoon but not as bad as the past days. More thunderstorms to come.

I've been seeing on the news how hot it's been there but certainly glad to hear that your morning is a bit cooler. We're going to be ungodly hot this upcoming week. Having cold coffee is a good idea. I should try that especially for an afternoon indulgence.

I don't' think our temperatures are too different. The weekend looks like it's going to be brutal and our forecast is for at least 100 degrees.

Just cannot understand that people are actually dropping like flies in France. Cannot they find ways to cool off. There was a photo of people by the Seine sitting sunbathing I thought well if it is so hot why are you out there in the sun in the first place?

Sunbathing in that heat is stupid. I don't understand it either Guess there's just as many people laying on the beaches here during the hottest part of every day,

We really need rain here. We had some rain here and there but not enough. I have the feeling it's going to be a very hot, dry summer.

Keeping hydrated is important in general but more so when it's extremely hot

@Marilynda1225 That is true since news reports mention that drinking is important during a heat wave.

It is not so hot to drink coffee or hot tea during this summer. My weekend was very relaxing by just staying at home. No plans yet for this week.

Happy Monday! And wow, triple digits coming up sounds brutal once it gets into that range, it’s less “summer weather” and more “just survive and stay near the AC.”

My weekend was ok. My mother and I watched the last two episodes of a monster show. This coming weekend my mother and I will be going to a museum that's celebrating the fourth and their anniversary, I also will be going to my great-aunt's house on the fourth. Also I will be sad that I will be finishing listening to an awesome book.
