Is there a best age for retirement?

I am an old fart, but I think I'd get bored if I retired. I more or less stopped teaching at the College when everything went "online." But I kept on working with littlies as a teacher and took my current position as a music teacher at Guitar Center. At what age did/will you retire? Do you worry about getting bored?

I am retired. I got an early retirement from the job I was doing plus a bit of a pension for only being there for 5 years. I went ahead and fully retired at that time because I was having health issues at the time. I think it is smart to have all your ducks in a row before taking the step. Social Security takes some time before you start getting it so It's a good idea to check all that out and have a plan. I'm not a person who gets bored, so I didn't worry about that.

Well, you know my situation. I can’t even get anyone to let me volunteer. They don’t think my health will keep me “available”. They’re probably right. My dad is retiring at age 71, at the end of this year. He can’t be still though, so he’s going to get a part time job.

I have no idea how old you are, but if you are considering retirement and can do that, I definitely would. Life is short. Go have some adventures, spend time in Montana, etc. You won't get bored. Don't work forever.
