How deep are your friendships here?

I know that the guidelines of myLot say that Excessive complaining is not tolerated because, we're all here to have fun! So I try not to stress the others or create anxiety. That said I am very glad that I can share my problems and receive comfortable words from myLot friends.

I have developed a few quality closeness with members as a result of the site. During the rant era, which was a time when so many thought that they could spew ignorance through the use of words in a post and that anyone (like no one) would be interested or wanting to help. I do not feel comfortable reading rants or complaints that people encounter as it is usually self imposed and only they can change that. Otherwise, the ups and downs of our lives, I've shared, prayed for each other, and shared emails, greeting cards and genuine feelings of happiness and friendship with a few. I think best of all is the learning curve, I've been happy to know other country's habits and traditions and the reasons why behind them.

My friendships here aren't that deep. I enjoy reading people's posts and responding and talking through my posts, but I have never talked to anyone outside of here (minus having one or two people on FB, but I don't talk to them there). It's not because I don't care, but I guess probably because I have periods where I just go missing, so it can be hard connecting with me. I do have a friend I met on Bubblews that I'm close to and stay in communication with and have sent mail to etc, but haven't met them because they live in California. If someone truly needs a friend or wants to talk, though, I'd open my ear but they'd have to find me somewhere other than here, because this is usually the first place I disappear from when I'm going through it in life. It's difficult to post when life is hard. I always find my way back, though.

I feel a kinship with some mylotters although there aren't many I would consider as close friends.Tgey are just nice people to chat with.

If a friend(s) need(s) help and I can help, I'm always around and willing to help. I try not to complain unless someone asks but sometimes, I just gotta say something. *shrug* I always appreciate being able to talk about things when I need to...

I would say that there are about five on here that I would call friends ....and i would like to keep in touch with privately if either of us left the site. Several more I regularly visit their posts and they mine ...it's nice to have a catch up .... I haven't met up with anyone from here ....most live abroad which makes it tricky ...

There will always be some parts I will hold back, but I am grateful for the friendships here.

I always like to do what I can to help anyone, of course, my way from the other side of the PC screen. On Facebook I am still in touch now and then with all the people from the site that is no more, HubPages, and some of them online I have known for over ten years.

I tend to take comfort in the strangeness of most people here but wouldn't mind meeting a few myLotters in person.

I have been here since 2011-2012, and have many friends on mylot. But we have never seen each other. However we have helped each other many times. Yes, I had a friend some years ago. He lived in a town only 50 kms from here. But we never met each other. He left his town and settled elsewhere.

I'd like to have more friends here, that go beyond responding back and forth on comments. A few I'm friends with outside of here. It would be cool to meet each other in person, but I probably won't get near where anyone else is lol

I haven't been in mylot all that long, but i have had a wonderful experience. While I don't have any friendship with anyone outside this space, i have met some amazing people i have come to love and appreciate even if I don't say it. There are things i don't share though cause i don't want it to feel like all i do is nag or complain.

Every now and then I wonder if “the mother of two from Montana” isn’t really a 59 year old pervert living in his mother’s basement. And I have had users here throw things in my face that I shared in the past. So no I don’t feel 100% safe online

I think it’s more a case that, personally, I know I’m not the only person with “problems.” I mean, I’m worried about my colonoscopy this week, but come on…it’s routine, and there are people here dealing with much bigger problems. I think it is a case of “my problems aren’t that bad, why burden someone who’s going through a harder time?”

There are times when I just need alone time from everything.

I enjoy my friendships here. There are several I would try to stay in touch with if MyLot disappeared.

I wouldn't say I have any besties from here but there are a few members whose friendship I really value. Coral (who is no longer a member) and I talk on the phone sometimes. There are others who I keep in touch with via DMs here. There also are a couple of members who are on my FB. I shared my spring's challenge here. I figure if I can do that then I can share anything.

Yes there is. I tend to dossapear when that happens.

I love being on mylot. I have always received kind words and good wishes here.
