I'm Just Complaining...

Pretty keeps buying "stuff" we don't need and don't have room to store. Most of the problem with "stuff" is that it needs to be assembled after it arrives. She doesn't want to do the work and I basically can't do the work now. We have a new cabinet in the kitchen that needs assembled. The two large cardboard boxes of parts have taken up half the kitchen floor since last summer and I dragged in a large box this morning that says it contains an ebike (assembly required). She just bought a new bicycle last year she doesn't ride. It's okay to ignore this "discussion".

We all need to complain sometimes x Is she planning on selling the bike she already had ? Is she waiting for your brother to come to put these things together ?

I don't know what she's planning on doing with it. It's out in the garage right now. My brother can't do that type of work anymore, either. He still gives us rides when we need one but that's about the only thing he does. (He's taking us to renew our Section 8 paperwork tomorrow in Mt. Vernon.)

Honestly I do not think that there would be alot of parents who couldn't identify with how you are feeling. On top of that, you are adjusting to being out of the hospital and the whole issue with your health.

@DaddyEvil - I have not yet decided if I want to get a driver license of not. i know my husband would say "no it's too dangerous" if he would be still here.

@LadyDuck I haven't gotten the car fixed. I'm nervous about driving again. While I haven't had any problems seeing since I've been back from the hospital, I don't know when I'll start having problems again. (The doctors assured me that I would start having problems since the spinal fluid drain has stopped.)

She told me this evening that she NEEDS the ebike in case I don't feel like taking her someplace. She can ride the ebike around our city without getting a driver's license or insurance.

That would aggravate me. One of the sources for arguments in my house is assembling stuff. I have no aptitude and hubby is generally no longer eager to attempt to figure things out. And then there are the horrible manuals.....

I had the boxes in the kitchen standing on their sides so they didn't take up much room but she claimed a couple of months ago that she was afraid the parts would warp standing like that so she laid them down and opened the boxes.

It’s great to see you posting again. I heard you were unwell for a while and had to undergo medical treatments, and I hope you’re feeling much better now. I think she’s simply interested in making things on her own, and she probably just needs a spot to keep those unfinished projects so they don’t clutter up the house.

Thank you. I was in the hospital this last week but am home again now. I AM feeling much better but will see the doctor in another week to see what the next step in my treatment should be. Pretty has the ebike parked in our living room right now. We do need to look about buying a storage space for it soon.

@shaggin Yes, she did but she's made no move to take it out of the house. I'm not sure she can park it in the garage once she takes it outside.

The neighbor's grandson already told us he'd be happy to help with things here at our house... I told her she should hire him to help her put things together. (She did put the new ebike together last night. It's parked in our living room right now.)

I don't mind you complaining as I hate when everything comes "assembly required" these days. Since most of what I get that needs assembly I can't do myself I have to wait and have either my son or one of my grandsons come and do it. Frustrating for sure. Please don't hurt yourself trying ot assemble that stuff

Pretty managed to get the ebike put together and drove it several miles today. She had to file something at the Family Center here in town and rode the new ebike down there. She says it's already hot at 9 am. We're supposed to reach 100F again today.

Nah, its funny and I do same thing with sister and brother. I know as soon as they buy something some times its a waist of money, will be used only three times and tossed aside never to be used again like a Exercise machine or a keyboard. That being said they are both great at putting their waste of money together. The problem is they still take up room and get dusty and become an eye sour, then they start complaining about money.

We buy only those that we require "right now". Our time is not much and no one would want what we leave behind except the money. I have never been good at assembling anyway.

It's perfectly normal to complain about things like this, have you tried having a conversation with her about it? Especially since you guys are running out of space to keep these things you rarely use, and the cost of buying them.
