Clever people in our village

Congratulations to those people, the soft toys are really cute and the painting is beautiful.

That is wonderful. Are they selling them? I wish I had some talent. Medication has caused tremors which limits what I can do sometimes. We lowered the dose of medication but then my pain increased. I really miss being crafty.

What a lovely idea for making use of that little alcove! It must be wonderful to have so many talented people in the village and to have a space where they can share their creativity with everyone else. I especially like the idea of changing the display every month - it gives people something new to look forward to. The soft toys look like they must be beautifully made, and it’s lovely that one of the residents combines that talent with painting as well. What a shame that part of the artwork was cut off from the photo! I’d definitely be interested in seeing the whole piece. It sounds like there is a lot more creativity in your retirement village than meets the eye.

Oh these are so cute and adorable. I remembered during Covid period I bought a crochet set to try make these plushies but I failed miserably.

Those are quite cute, the girls have several crocheted softies. I love being able to see the handicrafts that are showcased in that little area of the clubhouse.

Those are really cute stuffed animals. My favorite of those shown is the mouse. If it didn't cost an arm and a leg to send something from Australia to the US, I'd ask how much the artist wanted for it.

I like the idea of displaying one's handiwork. Mine would be empty tea mugs!

That's such a lovely idea and a great way to make use of an otherwise empty space. I'm always amazed by how many talented people there are around us whose skills we might never know about unless they have somewhere to display their work. Changing the pieces every month will keep the display interesting too. I enjoy seeing handmade items, whether it's woodwork, sewing, painting or other crafts, because each piece has something personal about it. It must also be nice for the residents to have their talents recognised in the newsletter.

I love the artwork, and I especially love that the village showcases and highlights the talents of the individuals there. Think they might show some of Vince’s photos?
