Have you travelled this late summer in another country?

I have. I went to Milan, Italy with my 2 Filipina friends. It was only a 4 days visit and we had a blast exploring the city. Although our hotel with buffet breakfast was far from the city of Milan, we still enjoyed travelling with the train.
We have visited the beautiful Milan cathedral and Como Lago. My 2 friends were not fond of going to a museum and so I was not able to visit Leonardo da Vinci museum to see the Last Supper painting. What a pity! Maybe next time. I only have to go with my hubby.
My friends were over the moon though, visiting and eating atJollibee, a Filipino fast food restaurant which was not far from the cathedral. I am not a fan of Jollibee or McDonalds food but I just went with my friends and enjoyed the food at Jollibee. My friends even bought Jollibee food before our flight and brought it back to Germany. Their kids were very happy.
That was a happy short vacation with my friends. Thanks for reading.

It sounds wonderful and that photo is amazing.
I haven't travelled abroad but I'm at my caravan now. The Mister takes his holidays in December / January so we may go away then.

I always thought I'd enjoy going to Italy someday but I think my traveling days are over now. I only made it into Mexico to bring a friend back home years ago. (I've been invited to go visit vanny in India but always worried I'd be too hot. I don't handle heat very well. I was also invited to visit friends in the Philippines but never managed to do that, either.)
I sort of had a vacation from life here at home when I stayed in a hospital for five days... That was interesting but I was supposed to stay in bed for most of that. I still had fun teasing the nurses and the aides there.

@thelme55 It is a beautiful country but I wasn't there long. My friend only lived a couple of miles from the border so I stopped at his house long enough to meet his parents and then helped him pack his stuff in my Daytona before we came back to the US.

I have never been to Mexico. It must be a beautiful country. Philippines would be too hot and moist for you. It is also for my hubby since he got Copd.
Nowadays, I thought that as long as I can still walk, I have to travel if I have a chance. Well, only for a few days without hubby but with my friends.
I am glad you still have fun teasing the nurses. Life is too hard to be serious all the time.

That is a beautiful cathedral, I am glad you enjoyed your trip, I just stay inside and write or watch things for entertainment, I do not venture out,

@thelme55 I order my groceries online and have them delivered by Walmart. I would not have transportation to get to a store,

@RasmaSandra I see. We order our groceries online, too because it is heavy to carry them but fresh fruits and veggies, I buy them in the nearby shops.

I'm glad you had a nice trip to Milan even if you didn't get to see the Last Supper painting.
I haven't traveled anywhere this summer either out of the country or in the US. But, Milan is certainly a place I'd love to see

Not really. I was in Pinas last year. I ate at Jollibee because my friends wanted to. It was okay. I left Philippines when there was no Jollibee yet in my city but I heard that it was in Manila already at that time.Thanks @luisadannointed.

Yes, it was always a good choice to travel Italy @xFiacre. It was my second time in Milan but that was before the millennium. There are many changes nowadays. I have not been to Pisa, Luca and Viaregio but I have been to Firenze and Rome ages ago. I heard the summer was so hot in Italy. Thank you.

that is a pity. museums are not entertaining, i get it but they offer so much; i can't comprehend that but, again, i like museums more than theater, for example. o, you went by plane, that's cool. i am glad you could visit Milan or Milano, it's a good place to visit. i was only passing through Milan to my way to Turin or Torino. wow, 4days is perfect, i feel cause it's not too short or too long. i didn't go anywhere this summer and i thought i would miss it but i didn't. it was either too hot or rainy so, i was good. i always want to visit Slovenia, a neighbour conutry but i don't have any companions so i am good.

Yes, it’s a pity but well, everyone has it’s own interest in life. I love visiting museum, too. Yes, it was an exact amount of days for a city trip. I heard Slovenia is a beautiful country. That would be nice if you have company to visit there. Anyway, thank you and have a nice weekend @valherma00

@thelme55 i am glad you heard that too. it's smaller but with a mountain climate, which i'm fond of and it's always cleaned, at least when i visited and that was the last time 11 years ago. i hope you had a nice weekend and have a nice week.
