The Energy Of The Storm...

A Storm... - A Storm...

There’s been times when a wild storm is brewing that I can feel the energy surging around me when I’m outside. Danger aside, I love to stand out in the storm and just feel the energy. It seems like everything comes alive out there and something stirs in me. The energy is so strong you can not only feel it but smell it and just about taste it. Then the storm breaks and the rain comes crashing down. The only part I don’t like is the lightening…the noises and the danger from it frightens me. Do you like to stand out in storms? Have you ever felt the energy from a storm? Does it stir something inside you? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Storms are some of my favorite places to be. Especially at the beach, the combination of violent wind, salt spray, rain and thunder, along with lightning and the crashing waves is the most incredibly beautiful set of sensations imaginable! When I was young and foolish, I loved surfing in storms. Now, I could walk in them forever, it seems. Every nerve comes alive, and rain even seems to enter each pore to cleanse and replenish. Standing in a storm removes any doubt that we are one with Nature!

I love thunder storms too! The sight, sounds, smell and wind are just magnificent! When my family is inside taking cover and keeping an eye on the weather reports, I'm on the porch soaking it up. The lightening and thunder are better than any fireworks display! As long as no one sneaks up in the cover of darkness, on their way to the bathroom to hide behind my shower curtain....

It depends how close the storm is. If the storm is in the distance, and all I can feel is wind, I will usually want to go outside and see! I like to video and try to capture lightning in the distance. However once the thunder and lightning starts to get close, I gotta go inside - but I still want to watch! I think storms are just an exciting phenomenon that people can't wrap their brains around and therefore they must watch. Why else would people go chasing tornados with video cameras? For me, it's always safety first - but it doesn't mean I'm not curious. I often wish I had a video camera to set up in the window during a storm to see if I catch anything on tape, but I've never once wanted to go outside in the middle of a bad storm.

You do have a point there twoey and yeah I have to agree, there is a certain freshness in the air once the storm has passed which I dearly love but the mess it creates, THAT I don't love at all. lol In my front yard, the grass doesn't grow very thick because it doesn't get enough sun during the day because of my wrap around porch and the way the house was built so it gets quite muddy in those areas and the back gets trampled on that grass has a terrible time growing so when our pets go in and out their pet door, they bring in mud and what ever else they get on their feet. That's the ONLY reason I hate the storm but it does bring freshness out of the air by washing the pollen and dirt away. Now do I stand in the storm while it's going on? No I don't. I did when I was a kid but as an adult, I don't. I do freak out when the thunder carries on because when I was a child, our house was hit by lightening so it's scared the hell out of me and I've been scared ever since. If it were just raining, I'd go out and play in the rain but the moment the thunder made itself known, I'd scream and run for the house and into my grandparents arms! I was so terrified of thunder and still am but not as bad. My grandmother was there when it hit and she NEVER got over it.

It gives me a feeling of the majesty of the universe and the genius it took to put all this together. I feel a sense of awe and wonder when I enjoy the power of a storm.

I like to stand out in the storms if its a light storm, and hear the thunder rolling in the distance and theres a light shower coming down, I don't like the lightening either, if its doing that I won't stand out there for very long, don't wanna get struck. I've never felt the energy from a storm.

Not a storm lover. I'm the one cowering in the basement or the corner without windows. I once witness the green cloudy sky, with clouds swirling right before the tornado touched down, and I'd not ever want to repeat it. Nope. I seek shelter in the storm, and I'm not afraid to admit that.

No I cannot say that I like storms, here they are often cold and so forceful that they can knock a person over. And let's not talk about snowstorms lol

I have always loved watching weather. When I was a kid I wanted to be a meteorologist until I discovered I would have had to take a lot of math. Of course now all that stuff is done by computers. I like to watch how the weather changes and storms come in. You can sometimes feel the barometric changes as you watch the sky. I was a little disappointed that I could not go outside when Hurricane Ike came through Galveston and Houston. I would have liked to feel and watch all that power.

I like it when the wind is blowing and stuff, but once the wet stuff arrives, I'm inside (meow.) I do like a lot of things about storms, maybe more right now because we have had so little of them lately.

Storms are a wonder of nature. They bring both beauty and destruction, and even some natural entertainment (lightening shows). I always know when there is rain on the way by the way the ants act and by the way the air pressure drops suddenly. I like being inside during a storm, watching from the safety of my house, but I do like running around in the rain, if the storm cell is still a little way off.

I love storms, and you're right about the energy - but these days I don't go for walks in them, as a lad was struck by lightning and killed a few years ago, just across the road playing cricket on the oval. On that particular day, it wasn't even very stormy - the lightning came from nowhere on quite a sunny day with sprinkling rain ... so I changed my habits. I used to have my daily walk no matter what the weather was doing - but not anymore.

I don't mind the rain and the windy parts of a storm..I like to watch them. It's the lightning that I don't like. I don't mind it too much if it is far off in the distance. I don't like the lightning bolts that are so close it looks like they are coming through the window. I usually get someplace where I can't see the lightning.

I love a good storm mind you we don't get them like you do.Feeling the energy or that erie feeling before the storm breaks, birds go quite and the wind drops for a while, then it hits rain starting slowly then it is lashing down. The thunder and lightening is so exciting and when it is over the air is clear and afresh lovely.xx

What gets me most of them happen when I am asleep in bed. late ate night. When A big bome hits over the house it sort of knocks me out of bed trhen I go around the house looking out to watch the lightning!

Yeah, one of my favorite things of summer...are the storms. There's something about being out during a storm that makes me feel...so alive. The energy is just so, so...pleasant. And in the summer, there's nothing better than dancing out in the rain. To take some of that energy you feel and give some back, you know? Nothing like it at all. And the smell of a storm...my favorite smell, ah. I'm smiling just at the thought of it! I've never really found storms frightening. Perhaps I SHOULD, but weather's just too fun! I've gone outside during tornado warnings (only briefly!) because during those times I feel like I could fly at will. It's a silly notion, it wouldn't be MY will and I wouldn't really be "flying"...I'd be tossed, but there's nothing like the feeling.

Yes, I know what you mean. I tend to feel like that about storms also. It is pure energy of which our true selves are part of it. I think that is perhaps why many people are touched by such awesome power, and they don't know whether to be scared or fascinated. I find fascination best. . Derek

Hi twoey68! Oh my, the only feeling stirring inside me is of fear and sadness during a storm. I love the rain but not the strong ones. I love the wind but not the strong ones either. i don't like lightning and thunder, they scare me. I fear it because I have seen so many destruction brought by it and sadness because I always think of all those homeless people who have to sleep wet and cold. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

i do also love going out but i don't like getting wet though. i love the silence that goes with it. and every thing seems still. except for the weather though. though i don't like the cold weather that much but still it is such welcome thing for me specially after some hot days.
