Have you started your spring house cleaning yet?

Yesterday I had a burst of energy and decided to clean out my bedroom closet. I have a ton of things that need to be gotten rid of and also rearranged. I did my carpets a month or so ago but today I'm concentrating on the dining room. I decided to do it one room at a time and not try to do too much in one day. So have you started your spring house cleaning yet? Do you try to do it all at one time or space it out?

Hello Jillhill! I do cleaning in spurts... and they're usually very small spurts... I should say de-cluttering & deep cleaning. I dust very rarely... altho my house accumulates TONS of dust... I vacuum regularly, wash dishes regularly, but closet cleaning, decluttering, bedroom cleaning, that is all in spurts. I started my bedroom last week... I did about 1/4 of the room. I still have the closet to do that's not counted in the 1/4 also! Thanks for making me admit what I still have left to do in the bedroom... and don't get me started on the kids' room! We're actually going to be stripping the wall paper & painting their room so that'll help in deep cleaning there... we WANT to start it this weekend... we'll see! Happy MyLotting, Fran429

My hubby is home all day now. He is the one that has been doing the cleaning. I have told him not to throw out anything until he gets my okay! He would toss everything into the trash if I'd let him.

I try to avoid my husband cleaning anything as well because he,too would trash it ALL... he wouldn't keep ANYTHING... and with my luck he'd trash something VERY sentimental to me... that's why I need to get it all organized... one of tehse days he'll just go in and do it LOL

I haven't but sure need to get started. I am the world's worst pack rat. I save everything but eventually it gets tossed. I saved 2 of the long strings that run the hood of a sweatshirt. They sat around forever, like I needed them. Finally I found a use. I have a tall plant that was leaning forward and about to fall over. I bought a piece of wood, placed in the soil and attached the plant to the wood to keep it upright. Walla, it looks great and worked! When I do get that sudden burst of energy, I do one area at a time. Have to save my old back and climbing around in the top of closets can be a killer. So I space things out and limit myself to the time invested.

Hey jill! Good for you! You are the smart one! I haven't even gotten started yet! I have to do my closets too! And that is usually the hardest part! Changing my bedroom closet from winter to summer is such a pain! That's when I throw out what I haven't worn and put back the summer stuff which I already had cleaned out before I put it away! Now that my bf has my other bedroom closet it is really difficult! I am left with only one closed! I dread doing this more than any other spring cleaning job! And it's definitely time!

I'm sorry about your father and it is hard to find time or energy for spring cleaning being a caregiver for Alzheimers parents. I can relate. I have done a little (very little ) I cant do it all at once, and I need to get rid of things too, but just havent gotten the motivation yet!

I started spring cleaning last week and didn't get to finish. I only had a chance to clean my kids room and our bedroom but my bedroom was the worse. I had the vaccum running the whole time b/c I was always picking it up to suck up something. I vaccumed the ceiling and the fan then wiped it down with a dust rag and pledge. This week my mom and I cleaned out her camper really well and that was about it. After that I was tired. I still need to figure out my deals this week and I am so unorganized its not funny so I think I will wait til next week to clean the rest of the house.

I live with my mom so really its up to her. Yes she has started. Last week i came home and she had rearranged her bedroom. Yesterday she came out in the living room and went through all of the childrens toys. She bagged up at least two to three bags of stuff. I work so its hard for me to help because when i get home all i want to do is rest.

I started my spring cleaning over the weekend. Usually I would try to get everything done in one fell swoop, but this year, I think I'm going to do things gradually. I started by doing a regular cleaning/vaccuuming/dusting of all the rooms and making sure everything was tidy and in its place. Next will be organizing and more intense cleaning in those back corners and nooks! I hope it's nice out this weekend so I can open the windows and air out this place, too!

I haven't started my house cleaning yet. For me it is actualy room cleaning as I only clean my room and my mother cleans the rest of the house. I have to rearrange the objects from my desk, clean the furniture and clean the windows. I don't have a lot to do, but I think I'll do them a day or two before Easter. All the best, Robert

yes, installing hard wood floors is DEFINATELY hard work! I always tend to do spring remodeling more then spring cleaning. When you remodel something, you end up putting things back into the room as tho you freshly moved in. That's the best part!

Well, I'm in the process of moving apartments. Not into another complex, but in another apartment in the same building. So I imagine my spring cleaning will be done while I am packing up. I don't really have a lot of stuff to go through, but I can't wait to be done with it. I just want to get moved in and have it over with. The apartment manager is just so slow!

I have not really done any spring cleaning. I do need to get some stuff done. I have a ton of stuff I need to either sell or give away to make more room too. Cleaning is not one of my favorite things to do, so it is not something I am really looking forward to getting started on.
