What did you do this Monday, to beat the Monday blues?

I had freelance work to do, but I skipped it. I went outside and enjoyed a glorious day. With the help of my son I re did my raised garden plot, putting landscape timbers in the back of it to keep the soil off the neighbor's fence. I added nice rich soil. Today is a continuation, with more soil. After Easter I will be able to plant tomatoes in it. Yay!! Now I have to do freelance work.

Yesterday was kind of a lazy day. I did some laundry, cooked some ribs in the crockpot and then threw some potatoes in to bake to go along with them. It is so beautiful here that I love sitting out on the patio...with my laptop. Unfortunately, I'm not writing much...playing games mostly. I need to do some writing though! Guess I have spring fever.

I played a few games along the way on sites that are supposed to give me points. I have lots of places that I earn a little bit. Game playing is an Alzheimer's prevention program I guess you know. Are you still taking classes?

I did not know that! I don't feel quite as guilty now. lol I am not taking classes this semester. We will see what the fall brings. I had to drop out last fall right before midterms when my health wouldn't allow me to continue. My back began to give me problems, which caused the depression to come back with a vengence when I could no longer get out of bed and walk without the aid of a walker.

I chose to wait ! Just now too long !

I have finished my articles, at least the first six. This guy will send me as many as I will take. I need to send them in an e mail. I am about six hours ahead of when I told him I would send them and that is good. I am letting myself MyLot for a little while now.

It was a wonderful day here in San Diego on Monday! I had to do some job-search related stuff as I am now unemployed and looking for work. I got a call saying that I have been accepted for training to do the door-to-door census enumeration, so that was good. I also set up a website where people can print quality copies of some of my artwork and hope to make money that way. And, finally, I watched Molly the Owl from San Marcos, CA online.

And, I also got my Nielsen Home Scan scanner yesterday and hope to get enough points for a camcorder, DVR or Microwave doing that.

I am signed up for Nielson, and am expecting a scanner sometime, but have not heard when. I did get an e mail that talked about them changing to a different name and asking if I still wanted to do it, and I said "yes". How long did it take to get yours? I signed up for Amazon Mechanical Turk last night, waiting for my account to be verified. Good luck with your website and the census. Feelings seem to be strong on that subject.

Is it still Monday there? It is Tuesday or it is 1.00am now so it is already Wednesday. Over the weekend I was back to my other house and only came back here late Monday. I did a lot of laundry on Tuesday. I have always thought of doing some gardening to plant pumpkins and papaya but never able to start. Maybe I need to do some serious planning as gardening is a good form of exercise rather than sitting in front of the computer endlessly.

No,it is not still Monday, but another friend started a new interest group: Beating the Monday Blues. One of our mutual friends started a new discussion today, Tuesday, in that group and I followed her lead. We will try to get this one off the ground. I thought Papaya grew on a tree, am I wrong?

I should be doing my income taxes, and filing. But I went out first to water my garden, as in this climate it is like summer already. But we must have had wind last night because one of my tomatoes fell off its support, pot and all and had come crashing down and broke the pot beneath it. Both tomato plants are fine though and one has lots of buds already. I just finished putting it in a new pot and came in to check myLot and right now in the middle of this discussion, I looked out and saw the cutest bunny rabbit sitting in the road. I got photos, yayy. Will try to post one later. Now it is time for breakfast!

You had a really busy day. Are you in Arizona now? We are going to have weather in the seventies or eighties today. As you can see, I am following your lead on helping the other friend with his new interest group.

I'll be in Arizona next week, but today I am near Palm Springs, CA. Yes, I had a busy day because some friends invited me rock hunting and we had a great time and spent the whole afternoon there and then went for a hike near sunset and then out for pizza and then I met another friend who wanted to go for a walk, so I didn't get home until 9 pm. Thanks for helping my friend!

Yesterday I tried not to think about it, but as is true EVERY Monday I wished (only for a second!) that it was the weekend again. (LOL) The weekends go WAY too fast nowadays. I worked a very long day yesterday so it made for a typical Monday. Once I got home from work, I got to relax with my hubby. We had some yummy spaghetti after I cleaned up the kitchen - what remained needing to be organized from our party we had this weekend - and then we were able to sit down and watch a movie while eating our spaghetti. Right before bed, I took a nice, hot shower as it was a little chilly out so it felt nice. I tried to get to bed early to catch up on sleep lost over the weekend (LOL), but I ended up reading for a little while right before falling asleep. It was a nice evening. Oh...can't believe I forgot the most important part! After our movie last night, I spent a couple hours catching up here on MyLot. It was so much fun, as always. That completed my Monday! MyLot always takes away the "Monday Blues." Thanks for asking! I hope your Monday was wonderful as well. Now we're already a day or two closer to the weekend!

I remember how it felt when I was working full time outside of the home. Mondays were often rushed and full of make up chores. I enjoy MyLot any day of the week.

You are SO right! That's the best thing about MyLot - any day of the week, you can enjoy it. It makes no difference because it's always fun. I love working outside the home, but I'd prefer to work from home. However, my job gives me an incentive to get up each morning, and my beautiful house gives me an incentive to work - LOL! I guess I see work as a privilege so that helps. Mondays can still be tough, though. It's all in how you look at it!

I don't get blues on Mondays, I actually look forward to them. There's this really delicious-looking Serbian bus driver, with an equally delicious Serbian accent, who drives on Mondays, so needless to say, I have good reason for looking forward to Mondays. No blues on Mondays, since the bus he's on goes directly from my house, to the coffee shop. :)

I also had work to do but just couldn't get very motivated. I did it, though. It was cold, wet and dismal here yesterday but today it is sunny and almost 60! The rest of the week should be beautiful!! After I finish this bunch of work I'm going to start my vegetable seedlings and get a head start on the growing season. Your raised garden plot sounds lovely!

I will bet you are doing the same type of work I am. It is a little, but it is something. I am looking at a few other things as well. I always feel guilty cause Grandpa Bob works so hard and gets his yard and garden ready then posts discussions about it. Sunny here today.

What did I do on Monday? I took my granddaughter to her appointment for an interview to see if she can get a loan to go to college and become a dentist's assistant. I set out in the parking lot and waited for her for about two hours and read a book. Then I came home and I got online and worked on here.

I have resisted putting my houseplants out too early this year. That is what I usually do. In this part of the country you are supposed to plant potatoes on St. Patty's day, and peas, too. I am not planting either of those.

I just did the usual. I put some money in the bank and got gas. I didn't do anything too exciting. I never have liked Mondays, myself. Even though I'm not working or going to school, I still don't like Mondays. I usually sing at the nursing home the first Monday of the month and the assisted living facility the third Monday of the month. I volunteered out at EASI today, though, and it was a very nice day for riding horseback! Kathy.

I looked at a job online for substitute teaching and ignored it. Why? Because I'm burned-out on subbing. I went yesterday because I really needed the money. But that just aggravated me more. The kids were OK yesterday, the teacher left lesson plans and answer keys (I often don't get one or the other, if it's an emergency, I get neither, but if it's planned, I don't see why I can't get both). So I should have been happy. But I wasn't, I was miserable. I subbed in 1981, 1991, 1998, 2001, last year and this year. I've had it. Many of the things they give me are awful. In School Suspension, Gymn classes where kids fight, claases that no one can control, etc. I never get Kindergarden or Reading any more. I'm certified K-12 Reading and K-6 all subjects. What do I get? Behavioral problems, Gymn, advanced science that I don't understand with no answer key, etc. I've had it. If I see something I really want, I'll take it. If my mood improves, I'll take something. If I can't pay my bills, I'll have to take something. But I'm tired of this. I used to get some decent classes and yesterday's was. But now I'm even burned out for that. I have part-time jobs, besides it, but they're disappointing, too. I was supposed to get one day a week, but now I'm getting 1/2 a day cleaning or driving someone around. Last year, I had 30 hours a week for the Census. This year they called to ask if I could work at least 30 hours, they gave me 2 1/4 hours yesterday (after a day of subbing, so I was kind of glad that's all I had yesterday, but that's all I've had this week!). It's like it doesn't matter what I do, I can't get a week's worth of work.

I think it's commendable that you were able to turn your eye away from the freelance work to spend a nice day with your son and tending to your garden. Sometimes we tend to get all wrapped up in work that we, as they say, don't find time to stop and smell the flowers. Good luck with the rest of the work you need to do, I'm sure it will still be somewhat lighter because you were able to spend quality time with family beforehand.
