i try to get there 15-30 minutes before my appointment time so that maybe i can get in earlier and then i would have more time to get other things done that day.. i know a lot of people that just get there on time and thats it.. they probably miss out on a few opportunities to be seen sooner but i guess that doesnt bother them enough lol.. so are you a early bird for doctors visits or a just on time/late person?

I do get 30 minutes earlier to my appointment with my doctor. Its because I want to relax before my check up, so that she can say that im okay. because when you have an enlargement of the heart, when your walking faster it turns you to blue and can't breath easy. So that;s why i'm at her clinic before she comes so that i can still relax.

I show up abuot five minutes early. tha way I can fill out any paper work that I have too and then sit and wait. Because around here it seems like no mater what tile you show up you always have to wait at least twenty minutes.

I live only a block from my doctor's office, so i can leave the house about 15 minutes before the appointment, and get there five minutes early. They say the appointment is for a certain time, but they are always late in calling me in, so if I only get there 5 minutes early, that's usually good enough.

Well, I tend to get there no more than 5 minutes before. I have an appointment for a certain time, that's the time I go for.
I remember when I was working in the clinic at the hospital. A lot of people did like ou, went earlier in hopes of being seen earlier too. To be honest it didn't work most of the time. See more than half the people would show up early. But the appointments were still the same amount of time with the doctor, so they would be there waiting and waiting and complaining that they had been there for so long - which was true of course, but just because they arrived sometimes 1 hour early.
Sure sometimes the doctor finishes a bit earlier with a patient, but when everyone decides to go earlier in hopes of being seen before it ends up not working that often.

I like to be there about 5 minutes early and take a book. the doctors office here is perpetually a half hour to an hour behind rarely ever early even first thing in the morning. And its all because the doctors come into the clinic late.
I was told one time when i was the first appointment of the day after waiting a haf hour AFTER my appointment "oh dr ____ decided to come in an hour late today" Which ticked me off and made me ask if he had no consideration for the fact that some people had to book time off work to be there and had to be back at work by a certain time. Since then I've been of the opinion that I'm not going to waste my time going in ages and ages early to sit around and wait even longer.

whats screwed up is that if you were late they can ask you to reschedule and some doctors will still charge you even if you dont see them

I always try to get to any appointments I have about 15 minutes early. I hate being late and rushing around. I remember as a child my mom was late for everything and as I got older it would be embarrassing...she is still late for everything!!! I hate when I am early but the Dr. is running late!!!

I normally get to a doctor's appt early, like you, with the thought that maybe I will get in sooner than scheduled. However, with the orthopedic doctor I am seeing now for my wrist injury, they require you to be there 30 minutes before your scheduled time. I also tend to be early, if like his office, it's a new location I'm going too, just in case I make a wrong turn. His office also instructs you to dress comfortably, bring a snack, drink, or any medication you might need, in case your appt is running later than scheduled.

I tend to get there about 10-15 mins before my appointment time as I never get to go in at the time of the appointment. Normally its about 15-20 mins after the appointment time.
It is annoying having to be there and then have to wait as if it was the other way around, I dont think the doctors would wait for us!! Maybe the appointment time is booked 15 mins earlier just to make sure we are there on time!!?? So say the appointment time is 10.30, maybe it really is 10.45!!??

I try to get to my appointments early, but it never happens, I usually get there right on time, not a minute to spare. It doesn't matter how early you are where I go to the doctor at, they don't ever call you on time, they are always running behind, so you usually end up waiting at least 30 mins to get seen if not longer.

depends on the doctors mostly.. although it seems like the last two times i went to the doc the office claimed to have 4 plus doctors working there and i only saw and heard people talking about mine and the room was full of people waiting.. other than that i think i have gotten away from the late or excessfully late ones lol

15-30 minutes? That seems a bit long to me. I tend to get there around 5-10 minutes beforehand, though that's because my doctors tend to run a bit late- they're always so busy!

well i have had one doc that i would have an 9-930am appointment and he would see me at 830 because he would always get there early and i was always over estimating the time it took to get there because i was so paranoid about getting stuck in morning traffic which can be insane and some how i would slip by in between flows or something but he at the latest took me in 30 mins early so it was worth it.. and since it was early in the morning i could go back sooner to home and bed (im a night person)

no way would i arrive earlier then my appointment because doctors are ALWAYS late even arriving at surgery for the first patient lool so therefore i always have to wait well after time i should be seen to..
I don't see a doctor much, in fact it is very rare.. but when i do, i would arrive few minutes before hand.. one thing though, where i now live, its not by appointment.
You just turn up between certain times and wait your turn, after given a number..
Which is alright, if you choose the right time to go, when likely to be less busy

well i see a lot of doctors and all of mine are annoying to where if you are 15 minutes late they can refuse to see you and make you pay them for seeing you (or actually you are paying and they DONT see you but anyways) and then they make you reschedule so it pays to at least be on time and everything here is appointment time set which is annoying but oh well.. and surgeries are stupid since they tell you a certain time and you still end up waiting 4 hours before anything happens.. drives me crazy

I am always late. I always try to be there early, but it never works out. Every single time without fail something happens as I walk out the door. Poopie diaper, spilled drink, lost keys, boo boos and so on....On days that nothing happens I end up having a flat tire or get stuck in traffic. I used to get so stressed and try to drive too fast. Now I just accept that I'm not going to be early, and get there when I get there. I would just have to wait in the lobby longer anyway.

I am early bird, not only pertaining to doctors visits. Usually i try to be thirty to forty minutes earlier at the station, if i am to catch a train or bus, we never knew what obstacle we will face in between, before we reach there, may be a traffic obstruction or similar things. Better to be earlier, than being late and regretting later.

I would always try to make it at least fifteen minutes before my appointment time.I know full well that I will have to sit there in the waiting room,an sometimes the appointments will be running late,so then it can be a long and lengthy wait, bit I would certainly rather be earlier that have to hurry about.Often our doctors surgery is full to capacity, and the nurses are very busy too,it is a hige practise, and caters for many,so there are always going to be a lot waiting there.

Over here, we have to be at least an hour or so earlier, even though we have an appointment. The problem is that, even though they give you an appointment time, they have also scheduled 2-3 more patients around that time. So we have to log in earlier with the nurse. And this is at a private hospital
- just imagine what it will be at public or government hospitals!

i hate it when i feel i have waited forever and look down just to be reminded by your watch that they ARE late and your not imagining it.. i was going to this one doc that they would take me to a room ON TIME but they kept leaving me in a room with a clock and i was left for over an hour into lunch time before some one saw me.. i was starting to think they forgot about me
