What would you do?

If you do, might I suggest something very basic and inexpensive? I would also suggest one with a camera too though. IF you do that is.

She does not deserve to have another phone but I think you should go ahead and get another one so you may be able to contact her. I hope she is more responsible with this one.

Kids are great arn't they for how well they look after things? "easy come, easy go". I have one who does not care too much about stuff and if something is lost or broke thinks it is OK Mum will sort it out!

If it was my lad I would be quite cross but as you say when they are away from home being in touch with them is important so I would probably buy him another but I would only buy him a cheap one. If he wants a dearer more upmarket one he would have to find the money for it himself.

My sister in law got quite a smart little phone from WH Smith the other day for £15 if that is any help, it has nothing fancy on it but it does the job she wants it for.

Well P1ke I am a big Softie so I would buy her new one, I mean strange enough my Daughter went through a Phase like that a couple of years ago
But yes I would buy her another because I am soft beggar when it comes to my Children lol

well i never was a cell phone person either until my oldest daughtes car just died one winter on the expressway with my 4 year old grandaughter in the car and her kitten. they were taking him to the vet. Thank the good lord a cop came by or who knows what would have happened to them, it was very cold out and snowing they could not walk that was for sure so ever since that incident she has a cell phone and I now have a cheap one just for emergencies. I think its needed these days but shouldnt be abused. I would make her pay for some of it at least half that way she may keep a better eye on it, just my opinion pikey the more u give these kids the less responsibilty they take.

she at least needs to get the number canceled so nobody else can use it.

I think that she has to learn to look after things more carefully so teach her a lesson. She'll have some money, my son gets EMA for going to college. I expect she can't do without her phone so you could either tell her to buy an inexpensive purely functional one herself, I got ours for £8 each or that if you buy it she'll have to buy the next one?

Sigh.......... that does not sound too good with your daughter losing the second cell phone now in such a short time. How does she do that, I cant understand how one can lose a cellphone.......
If I were in your shoes P1ke I would handle the situation like this: It is very useful for her to have a cell phone and so I would buy a cellphone for her but make her pay it back in small amounts cause she was careless. Even if it takes a lot of time till she has paid that off but it will teach her a lesson.

LOL!! I guess it depends on the age of the daughter and what her father feels about financing a new mobile phone for her.:) If the father feels the daughter is old enough to somehow finance her own mobile phone, then he doesn't need to buy her another phone to replace the one she lost. However, if this is a doting father, then it is a different story.:)

I'd be tempted to buy her a new mobile .... but as her Christmas present. Sounds to me as if some insurance might be in order as well!
