judging by your description of the event i would say that Jill and John set out to intentionally take advantage of Marie
they dont sound like they are very good friends to marie
Marie should seriously reevaluate her relationship with those two
If i were Marie I would be giving them both a piece of my mind and then cutting all ties with them

It makes her a very caring friend and doesn't think before she does things for her friends and she should now stop doing them for them as they are using her and maybe making fun of her and not meaning to hurt her feelings but just mite.

I think it would be frustrating in Marie's Shoes. But I also believe if a person can afford it they should pay for the gas, and she did not work for free. She got paid, and then paid John for Gas to get their and back.. it's frustrating but if I were Marie and needed to do it for the money, I would explain well it costs 10$ in gas to come and go, or Marie just needs to arrange her own transportation to and from there.. If Marie is aware it cost 10$ and she is aware of John charging 10$ for gas and does not raise the price...in earnings. Then I'd of course if the money was really needed or I did not like the work I'd wander off elsewhere to work. - DNatureofDTrain

They are cheatas if they cheat a friend like that just what would they do to someone else.

She wants to charge her other aunt to take her to the store or the DOcotr.
and thats not right you help family and friends and ya dont charge them for it!

I hope this a joke because if not, Marie has some serious screws loose. And if she does this several times, then I think this Jill person is cruel and taking unbelievable advantage of this pooe woman. Please tell me this story is fabricated!! Hugsss

I think Jill and John should have their butts kicked. Marie is very naive and doesn't use her head and they are taking advantage of her.

I just hope that Marie would catch on. The ten dollars she "earned" was lost on "gas". I am surprised she did not catch on sooner. Dumb.

well, i would say that if i called up a friend, or was called up by a friend, i would not expect to be paid...

however if that was the arragement i would have picked up on it... i wouldn't say anything though, if they were my friends i would be embarassed to ask them for money...

i do feel it's very wrong to do such a thing to a friend, unless they were simply messing with her, which i doubt since they are not close enough for asking favours without monetary reward...

anyway, Marie is not stupid, believing in people is a wonderful quality, which can be harmful, but it is, nevertheless enviable. there is way too much mistrust nowadays!

This stuff just is not rigt! it is a con game on the other person part. jsut trying get something for free.

poor Marie, she is rather stupid, I wouldn't do that, I'd tell them to go have a run and jump, if John asked me for petrol money I would flatley refuse, I don't think it was nice for a friend to play a trick on their friend like that or were they hoping she wou't catch on?
