I'll say it was! If anything I was expecting them to say sorry and walk away. When the guy told me he'd go to his house and get the cables I was in shock! I couldn't believe it! I was thanking them both before he even left to get the cables.

I'm not sure what kind of jumper cables my husband has, as I've never paid attention, but I think it needs to be plugged into a standard wall socket. I like the idea of not messing with the engine. I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

I didn't want to ask, but I didn't have a choice. At least it was during the day and in a public place. I'm so thankful everything worked out in the end.

I heard about this and was quite concerned that I wouldn't get a jump because of it. But I took a chance and asked anyway. I sure hope their helping me didn't screw up their car. Because that would make me feel just awful if it did.

Sad to say, but if I actually had jumper cables and knew how to use them, I'd only feel safe assisting women. I realize that wouldn't guarantee me safety, but I'd have a better chance of coming away safe from any incident in question.

Funny thing is, I usually do my shopping in the evening. And with the time getting shorter, it's getting darker earlier now. The only reason I went up during the daytime like I did was to put my husband's check in the bank, otherwise I probably would have went shopping later on in the day. I sure am glad that I didn't as I wouldn't want to get stuck at night!

I hate to say it, but I don't know how to use them either. I really should learn how, so that I don't have to rely on someone else to put them on for me. Or better yet, get some that don't require the use of another car, like this one I found through Wal-Mart:

What was funny was the look on my wife's face when this girl asked her to send me over to jump her. She said this twice. Once to my wife and once to me.

She just didn't click on what she was saying. Maybe I am too much of a male pig though...

That's what my husband said. LOL I couldn't agree more. I was very lucky indeed!

I had my cell phone on me, but it was almost dead (and here there's a charger in the truck). I was able to call my husband, but he had no way to rescue me (at least not without leaving the kids home alone ). So I took a chance and asked a stranger for help.

I'm pretty much the same way. It sucks sometimes to be so overly cautious, but it's better to be safe than sorry!
