Do you ever hear yourself saying grow up?

i'm always saying that to my 14yr old,and i tell my 8yr old to stop acting like a baby

I do find myself saying "act your age" every once in a while. But what you have to keep in mind is that most of the time, when kids are being silly, they are acting their age. I just get a bit frustrated when they don't listen, and won't stop what they are doing as it is annoying me, and that's the phrase that usually comes out. When I say it, I hear my mother's voice coming out of my mouth...scary. It's alot more fun when I catch my sisters or brother saying things our mother would say.

I'm usually the one encouraging people to act their shoe size rather than their age . I think quite a few things that I dont say when I'm at work because I'd get the sack!

I'm not one to frequently say it out loud, but I certainly do think it to myself. Recently, my husband and I went to a credit counselor because we want to get out of debt and the sooner the better. While we were filling out the initial paperwork, I heard the men that worked in the office talking about a party and about chics. I told my husband that they sounded like a bunch of teenagers and that was somewhat of a turnoff to me. Well, come to find out, the counselor that we got is younger than both of us and went to high school with my little brother. That makes him 26-27 years old but in the professional situation when they didn't realize clients were present they were acting more like they were 16-17 years old.

Oh yes, we need to remind ourselves that we must act as grown ups and not act like the kids we see. It is good for us to be conscious of our actions so that others who are looking at us would be motivated to act as grown up as well. But there are times that we think and act like children. Therefore, it helps if we can make a commitment to be aware of our actions and find someone who will tell us or remind us of such a wonderful commitment.

I say that sometimes to a couple of friends who just act like little kids, or a variation of that which i used is: are you 12 or what?? I think i say very often that(at least for those who really act like children)

I do not say that if they are doing somethings childish. What I do sometimes is ask my granddaughter or friends is how old are you? Then say I was just wondering by the way you were acting I thought you might be 2 or 3 years old.

I think this quite a lot about a few people I know. Especially when people are fighting over the most petty and rediculous things. I just cannot help but think 'Grow UP!'.

I have said this many times to people also. I have said it to children as well as adults also. I have also said, act your age and not your shoe size too LOL. Some people act so childish sometimes.

I am forever doing just that. Alot of the time it is some idiotic thing I have found myself watching on the television. But I do think and say it to my granddaughter. She is seventeen and oh, don't get me started. Usually it is the neighbors or something I see in passing. Alot of it going on now days. Stupidity is rapent.
