How Much Would YOU Pay For a Photo With Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin?  

Michele Bachmann is a member of the House of Representatives from Minnesota. It seems like every time she opens her mouth something stupid comes out! During the 2008 campaign she appeared on Hardball with Chris Matthews and called for the media to investigate members of Congress for "anti-American activities". She seems to be obsessed with "Japanese interment camps" and the like, accusing Americorps of trying to put our kids into "reeducation camps" and saying the U.S. Census might use information gathered to round Americans up and put them in interment camps. I could go on and on but stay tuned to myLot, you'll be reading more about her!

Maybe it's because I get more amusement from posting about Palin and Bachmann than about Obama and other politicians...lol! Lighten up, Taskr. I certainly know all politicians have fundraisers and charge huge sums for dinners and other events. There are enough others here who are keeping a watch over every move President Obama and every other Democrat makes, which is fine, you all have that right. If I want to have a little fun and ask a lighthearted question about someone else, that's my prerogative as well, isn't it?

By the way, I don't have the money to spend for any campaign either and I'd never personally pay thousands or even hundreds to have my picture taken with ANYONE! If someone else wants to, hey, it's their money!

Actually, you can sometimes get one for FREE if a bar that has a dart league is getting new ones. At least that place where I used to shoot darts and my husband still does often gives them away.

Let's see, by the time I earn enough here Bachmann and Palin will be about 1000 years old and hopefully retired from politics...

By the way, I know there's no law against politicians raising money and to be honest I'd rather have them raise it from private citizens for photos and dinners than from mega-corporations giving millions. However, I must say these things that cost in the thousands kind of leaves out the average American struggling in a tough economy. Let's just say if someone can afford to pay $10,000 for a photo - or any large sum of money like that to any politician from either party - isn't likely to be worried about their home being in foreclosure, paying for health care or whether they're going to get an extension in their unemployment!

The biggest "reason" I hear people cite for the uncontrollable picking is, "Well, they put themselves out there!"

So it's Palin's fault for daring to be alive, I guess.

So drug addicts aren't responsible for using drugs. It's because the drugs were out there and available. If they weren't, then the addict wouldn't be using at all.

My guess is the avid pickers take their marching orders from someone else, whether intentionally or subconsciously. But it sure is fun to read.

In Jerusalem, Sarah Palin is much more popular than Obama. Not only because of the pin she wears with the flag of the USA and the flag of Israel tangled up in blue.
Like most of the representatives of the Republican party she says Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, in the middle of Muslim dictatorships. Also she says the Israelis have the right to build where they want in Jerusalem, the capital, like the Americans have the right to build in Washinghton.
She doesn't try to be the King of the Muslims like Hussein Obama. Of course if Sarah Palin comes to Jerusalem, I will try to have my picture with her. I like her very much.

Gee, it seems to me that some of YOU are the ones who are so "bothered" whenever I post something about poor Sarah! I don't have "my bloomers in a twist", I just thought this would be a fun thing to discuss. I really don't care how others spend their money, if someone wants to throw $10,000 on a picture that's their right and their money! I know "everyone does it" but I personally would like to see all that money taken out of politics.

bit on the serious side, at least matersfish is trying to have fun but i have to say that politicians are in the public eye, they have power, and making fun of them is your responsibility as a citizen. handily you have divided them up so some of you can make fun of obama and crew and some palin and crew.

actually i think better is to be oversensitive about little palin's opposite but eerily similar number, little obama. in fact i am going to go into the 7 million discussions started today sl@gging the poor wee mite off and be really offended. or would if i could be bothered.

How many ways do you want it?

If you're starting 37 Palin discussions a week, all of which you hope to get responses on, obviously, then I'd assume--stupid of me, I know--that you'd have to expect some people to disagree and pull the "petty" card.

This isn't MSNBC. On myLot, people of a different opinion get to weigh in on the matter.

Certainly, if a person becomes a public figure by choice, they have to expect that they will be lampooned, dissected, gossiped about, etc. The biggest difference between Obama and Palin is, of course, that she is a private citizen and he is the President. She may wield influence, but he wields power. That so many want to talk about her must indicate that they consider her influence to be weightier than his power. Just giving her so much attention adds to her influence. If she goes back into politics and succeeds, it will be all down to the glut of negative attention - average people eventually will feel so sorry for her they will begin to support her.

Sure, some things are all in good fun. My favorite for funny quotes has to be Joe Biden, and I say that with some affection because he's provided the most light-hearted moments in this administration. He's not pushing an agenda, there are times I think he's not even been told what the agenda is. I do know he supports it, but not too strenuously, because being VP means not really having to do anything.

anyway as i said before it is everybody's duty to make fun of politicians. this includes former politicians, would be politicians, and political commentators. they have to have SOME purpose about from making messes. puppies can do the latter perfectly well too. you two can have fun with obama and annie can continue with her pet palin project and everybody is happy,

I must say if people were asked how they decide what politicians to support and they were truly honest there would be many different answers but I doubt that "because I feel sorry for her" would be one of the top ones. I'm not saying they'd all be GOOD answers that make sense but just that that wouldn't be one of them!

i felt sorry for little Johnny Major. if i had been old enough to vote then i would not however have felt it necessary to vote for somebody i felt sympathy for. now i feel sorry for Brown, i have absolutely no intention of voting for him though.
