My sister went to the ER Sunday morning, with vomiting which has since been joined by diarrhea.
First assumption was that she had a bad stomach bug. She has had tests A to Z. She is on an IV for hydration. She has had antibiotics. She is not better.
They are thinking food allergies perhaps. This is the third time she has been taken to ER in three months. She is on the "cardiac diet" which means no salt, she hates that.
A year ago she had a clean colonoscopy, no cancer and an EGD (tube down the throat to look) and no cancer, no active ulcers. She takes prilosec on Dr.'s orders 2 x daily, and Tums in the afternoon most days.
Her neighbors are checking on her cat. I probably will go today to clean the litter tray and buy more cat food. I do not know if Bob will go with me.
Right now I am ready to go to school to work.

Hopefully, it isn't anything serious. She will surely be dehydrated though.

It was not a contagious disease, but was the result of poor lifestyle choices all of her life.

Have a good day at work and I hope the doctors can figure out what is causing your sister's problems.

Basically her problems were from a lifelong history of smoking and poor eating habits.

@GardenGerty The poor eating habits happen to a lot of us. We don't see a reason to change until it's too late to make a difference.

@GardenGerty Yes, I had caught up with the news that she had passed away. That's very sad.

A lifetime of smoking and poor eating caused plaque throughout her arteries. Her body was dying a little bit at a time.

Colonoscopy was a regular routine, egd was because of stomach pain.

I hope they can get some answers there.
I wonder if she just needs some good probiotics and some s, boulardi.
That is what fixed me right up after going to docs, urgent cares, ERs for 6 months.
They couldnt figure it and I cured myself.

@GardenGerty I know. It's a shame that it wasn't possible.

No, not food poisoning, although that would not have surprised me. It was accumulated damage from years of smoking and poor eating.

The tests revealed that she had had an undected stroke, who knows when. She had plaque in her arteries and all her various systems were shutting down.

What it boiled down to is that she treated her body poorly for many years and it just gave out on her.
