Day #7 without heat. Looks like it will be next week. Long story but another drain guy will be coming out to use a camera in the drains and jet them out. Probably $600 or so. This has become a VERY expensive situation. Until the drains are running well again, we don't want to have the furnace repaired or the hot water heater installed. Our old hot water heater has been lit and so far is working.
We are SO LUCKY that the weather hasn't been brutally cold. Looks like next week will be mild as well.
**39** days until spring.
Breakfast - None
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Fish, Lima beans, carrots and apricots
Dessert/Snack - Brownie and decaf coffee
Dinner - Corn dog and potato salad
Photo Credit: Mine - Mt. St. Helens, Washington, some of the trees that were knocked down by the eruption in 1980.

I'm glad the weather is milder so you don't freeze in your house. I hope you've got some electric heaters so you're staying warmer. (Remember, Walmart will take things back as long as they don't look like you've used them for years before you bring them back for a refund.
)
Uhm... I ate a breakfast burrito for breakfast, half of a beef and Cheddar sandwich for lunch and chicken taquitos for supper last night.
Good luck with the new sewer dude.

We have heat. Hubs decided he didn't want to wait another 4-5 days. We were freezing today. The new sewer dude better watch his p's and q's. We are tired of paying through the nose for this problem.

@LindaOHio I remember that my neighbor had a problem some years ago. They came with the camera and then they used a power jet to clear the pipes and the drain.

You are correct. This new guy is insisting that he do it again. Then, after that, he will jet the drains.

I hope that you have another source of heat meanwhile. Once, when I was very cold here, I donned my warmest PJs at home and a fur coat over it that I had inherited from my mom. It was politically incorrect but it was worse to freeze. It was not very elegant but I did not care.

I wrap myself up in my throw and go to the room with hubby. He has two heaters in there; but it was still freezing!

@LindaOHio That part of the planet is unlivable without heaters in winter.

@marguicha Yes. But hubs decided 7 days was too long to be without heat. He had the guys come in and fix the furnace. We now have heat!!!!

Good grief, you're wallet needs a huge band aid. I sure do hope the weather stays mild so you'll have the chance to get everything fixed and I pray all those companies will give you excellent warranties on the work they're doing for those outrageous prices.

Thanks. Hubby gave in and had them fix the heat today. He didn't want to wait another 4-5 days.

I am not sure what I would be doing in your situation, but I know I would be fit to be tied, as would my wife. I am really looking forward to reading about this entire situation being completely behind you. No one is looking forward to that as much as you are of course.
For dinner I made barbecue baked chicken thighs with a baked potato and some broccoli on the side.

Sonny’s for lunch (turkey, smoked for hours, melt in your mouth) and an individual pizza for dinner.

I feel so bad that you're still dealing with the water issue. I probably would have pulled my hair out by now. Fingers crossed the camera will be able to pinpoint the problem
Last night we had pork chops with sauerkraut and potatoes
