4/1/24 - Update on My Husband

We went to visit my husband yesterday. His 2nd cousin and his godson/cousin took me to see him. His 2nd cousin made him a plate of food; but he had already eaten his lunch, so more for me!
He was in good spirits. He still wants to get out of that facility though. This morning I will call the other facility and see if there are any beds available.
I am still hopeful that he will be home in a couple of weeks; but that could be wishful thinking. They don't do physical therapy on the weekends which, to me, is a wasted 2 days.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers and positive thoughts.

No, he's 100% over all that. He can't believe some of the stories that we tell him about his behavior.

Did you tell him he said he was in a movie? I remember that for some reason!

Thanks. I have contacted Admissions at the new facility and the Social Worker at his present facility. She is the one who will initiate the move.

As long as he continues to show improvement each and every day, you’re headed in the right direction! He’ll be home soon enough!

We recently had a family member in a rehab for several weeks, due to a badly broken leg. I visited several times, there was no therapy on the weekends there, either.
I hope you can find him another place since that one doesn't seem to have it all together, which is too bad.

I'm waiting for a call back from the Social Worker. She will have to initiate a referral to get the ball rolling to get him moved.

I wonder why they don’t do physical therapy on weekends.

@LindaOHio that could be the case. People do need days off.

I don't know. Maybe PT people don't want to work weekends.

@lovebuglena They could stagger the work weeks. Someone could work Wednesday-Sunday.

It sounds like a good visit. They probably cannot get or afford to pay qualified physical therapy providers on the weekends.

Probably not; but it seems like such a waste. Plus my husband lays in bed for those two days. It seems counter-productive.

Thank you. I got a hold of Admissions and left a message for the Social Worker at my husband's facility. She is the one who will facilitate moving him.
