Because I was suspicious of the information that I received from our insurance company, I called again yesterday. NO, there is no coverage for Long-Term Care; and the Business Office said that it costs the same as Skilled Nursing. I'm going to call today to find out if you get daily physical therapy in Long-Term Care. If not, this could be my angle when I write the Appeal to keep my husband in Skilled Nursing.
Called the Business Office AGAIN about the $1,218. Guess what? She called Corporate and they can't give her a breakdown of charges!!! She said if you don't know what you billed them for, then you must refund the money!
We have been on self-pay for over a week now; and it looks like my husband won't be able to come home for another 2-3 weeks. I must get some time to sit on the phone with the US Department of Health & Human Services and find out how to fill out the paperwork for the appeal. Maybe on Friday.

I'm sorry there's no coverage for long-term care.

Praying for you. Is he still making progress with his PE and getting out of bed..up and down from chairs .etc ?I wonder if he could use a set of lightweight dumbells..to exercise his arms while he is in bed, he or otherwise unoccupied He has to do something to regain his muscle tone. You don't want him to get weaker, or it will be impossible for him to function in a home environment without having help all the time unfortunately.

He's progressing slowly except for the walking. He's doing pretty well with a walker.

@snowy22315 I think they're pretty accurate. I just wish they'd get him on the steps and also working on his getting in and out of bed by himself.

That's a lot of hassles. I wish that the procedures were simpler and with more clarity. I am sending prayers and thoughts for you and your family. Stay strong

From everything you have talked about on what's going on, I feel like you
are being ran around like a chicken with your head cut off or ran around
in a circle where there's no end in sight, which is surly crazy & not right.

@LindaOHio I don't mind dealing with people depending on their
1st approach attitude, I try to be as friendly as I can dealing with
them, but if they come at me with a attitude then I keep my cool
& do what needs to be done & get out of there.

He's doing OK. Getting stronger; but they still don't have him on steps or working with him to get in and out of bed by himself.

It is indeed mind boggling issue. Much of it I may not be understanding correctly too, because it is different here. I am truly sorry that you are going through so much Linda, especially when you are not doing too good yourself. Hugs...I wish I could have helped.
