10/31/24 - Update On My Husband

Spoke with my husband. He was not in good spirits. Said he was so hot he didn't eat his dinner. The AC was running; but it was still too warm in his room. He now has a roommate. He said that physical therapy didn't go well; but he didn't want to elaborate. We didn't talk long because he just wasn't in the mood.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

@LindaOHio - I know that not arriving to do what they want to do makes them depressed. I am noticing my husband, he is so sad not arriving to remember things.

Sounds like he is really having a time. It's awful to feel miserable. I wonder if there is anyone he could talk to. This must be hard on you too. I'm so sorry.

That is understandable if he does not feel comfortable staying in a hot room.

It could be a health thing or it could be something else entirely. Could be a lot worse.

Sure we will continue pray for him. Maybe he wants to come home, and is not comfortable to have a new room mate. I hope he gets well soon and I hope he can come home soon.

I hope this roommate will be better than the previous one. Could it be they had the heat on instead of the AC?

He hasn't complained about the roommate; and he said it was more comfortable yesterday.

Honestly, he doesn’t seem to be communicating with the workers there if he rarely even uses his call button. He could have an infection, etc. that is making him feel flushed and warm. It isn’t hot outside, nor is it cold yet. I had to run a fan yesterday as nothing had kicked on, the hot winds were nasty. He’s obviously depressed about his health and not getting better.
Call the facility. Talk to someone, you can ask for a social worker to chat with him and they can do that without saying you requested it. Also tell the nurses at the station that he just needs to be checked on, as it appears to you that he isn’t doing well, and isn’t using his call button. Maybe you can go see him tomorrow—and you could stop at the nurses station before you see him and just talk to them.
