How do your pets do while you are gone?

Tomorrow morning I’m going to my sister and brother-in-law’s for a couple of days. When I’m gone, my dog, Sadie, stays with my best friend, Naomi at her home. She runs a rescue, and lives on a lot of land. I asked Naomi this morning how Sadie did last night (she was too busy today to meet to get Sadie). She replied that she did well after she calmed down, and quit growling at everyone. None of my other dogs did that, but Sadie is insistent on being an “only child”. I had two dogs at one point, and Sadie did not like it. When Annabelle (my other dog) died, Sadie really warmed up to me, and seemed to relish all the attention she got. Which is fine as I can’t afford two dogs now.
How do your pets do while you are gone?
*Photo is of Sadie who claimed my pillow as her own when it fell on the floor after I left the room.

Sweet Sadie. She wants her Mommy. Moxe dog was adopted then given back to the shelter and now we have her.
What was her issue? She is a softie. The first family was younger and worked so Moxe was left alone for hours. Moxe got into trouble, chewing up things cause of her distress at being alone so much. We are retired and can handle most of her issues. The cats can be alone more BUT even when I am gone to the store for maybe an hour at least one of the cats comes to me and paws at me or rolls around. Its obvious that they noticed I was gone.

One reason Sadie’s owners were looking for a new home for her was because they thought she was depressed by being alone with just their Bull Mastiffs all day. She’s a different dog than when I first got her, in a very good way.
Your animals sound like such sweethearts!

Whats hers is hers, and whats yours is hers. Sounds familiar
. Nico is not a fan of being left alone, but he muddles through. I usually leave him a puzzle ball with food and treats on it to entertain him when I am gone for a long period of time. What's the occasion of staying with sis? Birthdays or what?

She just asked if I wanted to come visit. After this and the invite to Disney, there was a moment I honestly wondered if one of my doctors had called her and given her bad news they hadn’t shared with me (she’s my in case of emergency with my dad). Obviously, that’s just my imagination running wild, but it’s a big change. I’m glad for it though. I have a great time just hanging out with them all.

@snowy22315 I hope she misses me because I know I miss her. My sister is a fantastic person, but she never seemed to care about being around me. So this is a wonderful change.

@AmbiePam She probably misses you, you don't get together all that often.

I assume my pets stay in their tank and keep swimming and eating just like they do when I (we) are home. I'd be upset if they did anything else.
I'm glad you enjoy your furbaby.

Thanks... We're down to just the two Corydoras boys... Everybody else we had aged out of the population. They're shy and stay hidden under the artificial plants most of the time. (I told Pretty I wanted more guppies when we had the money and the time to drive to Springfield and buy some.)

@ambiepam We’re between cats right now, but I remember leaving one at a battery for a week and she wouldn’t look at us for two weeks afterwards. I also recall a friend being very anxious about what to do with her cat when she was going away. JOKINGLY I suggested that she have it put down and get a new one when she returned. She wouldn’t speak to me for ages after that.

I think animals really do understand what we say. My granddaughter's Maltipoo Winnie, who is spoiled rotten (Winnie, not Kristin. Well, mostly not, lol) will let all of us pet him, but not my husband. When he sees Dale, he'll just turn his head and trot away. It's probably because Dale said one time that he was going to put Winnie outside in the dog pen.

Bruno always wants to know where I have been, even for the day. He likes to make sure I go to bed well at night.

Sadie is such a sweetie! I don't know about Gracie. Wherever we are outside, she wants to be near by, but won't let us pet her much. She's sociable, but from a distance. I think it's her PTSD.
Hope you enjoy your visit at your sister's. I know the kids will be thrilled to see you. I'm sure Sadie will be fine.

Hey I've seen that picture before.
And Rebel hates it when we're gone.

I'll find out soon about this new cat, Oliver, because I leave Friday for two weeks.
The other cats just hunkered down for a couple of days with hubby here and then "forgot" about me until I got back and then they were happy to see me.
