Good morning! It’s time to get back in the Red River Gorge, but first there’s lunch at Sonny’s BBQ. Oh, of course, you also get to spoon in June with a moon song. Here’s today’s song.
Dancing in the Moonlight - King Harvest
You probably don’t remember the band’s name, but you remember the song. They were a one-hit wonder, and this was it.
What you may not know is that this was a cover! It was written by Sherman Kelly, and his band originally recorded it. King Harvest (named for the song “King Harvest [Has Surely Come]” by The Band) covered it and had a top 20 hit with it.
Unfortunately, the “usual things” got in the way: the band kept changing band members so they had no stability, and their record label went bankrupt before they could capitalize on the success.
You probably know the song, though. Like so many acts, the band has faded into the woodwork while the song still provides a singalong.

That's the song that was covered by Toploader a UK band.
Quite a good song

There is a song called Dancing in the moonlight by a group called Thin Lizzy....I don't think it's the same song as yours though !

What a great idea for a song title post! And I "love" this song by King Harvest. 
This would be on my one-hit wonder list for sure!
Fun fact: I used to go to a bar on Weds night during the summertime just to hear these two guys perform this tune.
