Day #9, we soldier onward.

It's day #9 that son is in the hospital. I am sure you are all tired of hearing about it all after days of it, but...it's my life right now.
Things seemed to be better for him Friday afternoon, and I got hopeful they would let him come home. But it didn't work out that way. His oxygen level is too low to be without the oxygen for now. His blood count and iron levels are basically too low to get out of there...so it's another day of watching, waiting, and trying to think of things he likes to hear, and staying on the highest level of positivity and determination we can come up with here.
The main thing is, he is happy that they are helping him, and there is much hope for his future. So am I. It's a long hard road, but he WILL get there!
In day to day news...one of my neighbors sent me a text telling me that another neighbor (the Gladys Kravitz of the neighborhood) thinks I have a new ''friend'' and that's why I am coming home and leaving in odd hours. She told my friend she just knew I must have a new boyfriend. Oh, Gladys...if you only knew! I guess some people don't have enough to do other than make stuff up about other people, good grief!
I hope everyone has a good week!

@MarieCoyle - Those people do not have a life, so they have to check the neighbors and spread gossip. Not nice people.

@MarieCoyle - We had one like her where I lived in Switzerland. She was always around badmouthing the others.

You are correct, she has no life except trying to snoop in to other people’s lives.

That is something I just can’t do, wear high heels. I guess I could try a low cut top, but the girls don’t need an airing!!

I might do that to stir her up, when the son gets better and gets home. He thinks she is hilarious. Thank you, Snowy.

“ABNER!!!”
When I first moved here I had a neighbor like that. In fact, Mom and I called her Gladys Kravitz. She stood at the door, though. One day the door was closed and I told my mom that I didn’t know her door COULD close!
Praying for you both.

I can still remember how grating ''ABNER'' was, coming out of Gladys's mouth!
Times have changed, but we all have had or do have a nosy neighbor. At least it provides some amusement, the things she comes up with!
Many, many thanks.

@MarieCoyle — my mom said that they had the “original” Gladys Kravitz when my parents got married in 1952. She said every day the woman was checking on her to see if she was pregnant.

It would have been shocking in those times if your mother would have hollered at her and said ''sorry, not pregnant yet!''

We will have one or two people like that in our neighborhood . Their sole business is to mind others business.
I am sending all positive thoughts and prayers for you and your son. I really hope that he is home soon.

Dear Gladys Cravetts. What a character! Let her think what she will. She needs a long to-do list, I think.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your son. Being positive is so important. It must be so hard for you to see him like this. I hope you both get good news very soon.

If Gladys is bored she could clean houses in the neighborhood and have even more to talk about!

If she had access to the insides of our homes I can just imagine the things she would dream up to torment people about. My life is boring...she would quit talking about me and find someone more exciting to yack about!

Gladys Kravitz was fun but not as a neighbor.
How old is your son?

This is a very friendly neighborhood. People have tried to be her friend here...but she wants no part of friendship, she always turns them away. Sad.
Thank you so much.

I don't know why people can't mind their own business and not worry about other people.
Good luck to you and your son.

I try hard at times to find humor in the dumb things people say and do, just scrambling for smiles. But I understand.

Well, at least it's funny...no one ever believes anything she says. Which is sad.

I'm so sorry to hear that you son is still in the hospital. Being a mom is the hardest job in the world.
i haven't thought of Gladys Kravitz in ages but you made me laugh when you used her as a reference to your nosey neighbor.

I think Gladys was perfect for her role in that show!
I always wanted to be able to twitch my nose and make good things happen...but somehow, I not mastered that art just yet@

I used to stand in front of an air vent in a gown. I often tease my mother saying I was pregnant. A neighbor actually thought I was. lol I hope your son gets better soon.

I think it irritates the neighbor that I ignore her snooping. But that's OK...I just don't want to acknowledge it, I think it will encourage her to snoop even more.
Thank you so much.

At least you being at the hospital has given the neighbours something to talk about.
But seriously, they should mind their own business, and I hope that your son's condition improves and he is discharged soon.
That should allow for some interesting stories if you are at home all of the time, now won't it?

Honestly, some of these people just don’t seem to have anyone in their lives, it’s rather sad. So they stick their nose into other people’s business instead!

Please continue to share about your son here. I'm sure we are all cheering him on, sending prayers and/or positive vibes that he will soon be home. They say that there are three types of people; Those that talk about others; those that talk about ideas/philosophies and a middle group. I can't remember what they talk about.
I don't think Gladys has enough to do either. Silly woman - her, not you.

Thank you so much, Judy. Yes, I do talk about my children a lot but hey...that's just what Mom's do. I hope he will be home soon. He didn't get to come home today, and he was a bit sad about it at first but then he decided they might let him come home tomorrow...if he is ready, I want him home.
There seems to be a LOT of Gladys Kravits's out there!!
