Today (8/20) is my husband's Heavenly Birthday. He would have been 84. (He robbed the cradle.) It's a sad, sad day.
Took cousin #3 to Red Lobster last night. It's a perk of working for me; but it also is her Birthday this coming Sunday so that worked out. The table was loaded with food. It looked like 12 people were there. She had the Ultimate Feast. She had a lobster tail, coconut shrimp, shrimp scampi and crab legs...then as sides she had a baked potato topped with crab and Brussels sprouts. We put ourselves into a food coma. For me, it was good to get out. We took home dessert -- I had the Brownie Overload; and she had Key lime pie.
We finally got some much needed rain. It's going to be under ***70F*** (21 Celsius) on Monday!!!!!!!
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Chicken breast stuffed with broccoli, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, roll, pears
Dessert/Snack - A slice of a little 5" Birthday cake I bought for my husband's Birthday.
Dinner - Red Lobster - Cheddar Bay Biscuits, crab stuffed mushrooms, clam strips, bay scallops, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, Brownie Overload
I have plenty left over for dinner tonight.
What did you eat yesterday?

I'm glad you got to go out and enjoy lunch with Cousin #3 and hope she enjoyed it just as much!
Next Monday the high is supposed to be 76F but the temp will start climbing every day after that.
Breakfast yesterday was scrambled eggs with onions, bell peppers and ham... I ate two cartons of Hiland Cherry yogurt for lunch yesterday and Pretty baked that huge pan of lasagna we bought last week. I had a modest slice of it for supper last night before putting the rest in the fridge.

@DaddyEvil Not including beverage, sides and dessert, her entree was $44.99. She had no qualms about ordering an expensive meal. That was OK because I paid for it out of my "mad money"...money from surveys and MyLot.

Cousin #3 always eats as if she hasn't eaten in a week. It's quite entertaining to watch.

I have enough food for dinner tonight.
I was 18 and my husband was 25 when we started dating...and I was very naive.

@JudyEv Yes, he was robust and driving and seemed to be feeling pretty well. I still hold a lot of guilt over that even though I know I shouldn't.

Thanks. I think he had some good years left if he hadn't fallen off the porch.

Yes, you will always miss him. After all, being together over 50 years is a long time. Try hard to think of the good times you had if you can--the times spent in Florida, special moments, and such. It will help a bit, I think...I hope it gets better for you, Linda.

After a time, it will get better, at least I think it will. It's still pretty raw for you...it's been like 7 months, and that isn't really that long. Hang in there, Linda!

Oh that all sounds so good. It is still hot here. For breakfast I ate shredded wheat, two pieces of toast. I worked and at lunch I had a small treat someone brought plus a small cucumber with hummus. I had smoked sausage with sauteed broccoli slaw for supper.

Praying for you, dear.
Chicken soft taco. They “messed up” my order (it was free anyway) and gave me two, so one for lunch and one for dinner! Sorbet, yogurt, fiber, and apples!1 person likes this

I use my mad money to pay for dinners out -- Money that I've earned from surveys, MyLot, etc. That way we can splurge without my worrying about the cost!!!
