The PowerBall jackpot is up to $700 million.
600 CDC (Center for Disease Control) employees are getting their termination notices. As you know, I am a medical freak. I watch for outbreaks of rare diseases, etc., and report them to you. I'm concerned about the CDC losing so many employees. We'll have to see how that affects disease control in this country.
This year is my 60th high school reunion. There were 1,000 kids in my graduating class. I don't plan on attending....where did the time go?
I checked on my husband's appeal that I sent in October, 2024 to the Department of Health and Human Services. It's still pending. They said to check back in 2-3 months!
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - BBQ chicken breast, mac and cheese, green beans, cornbread, peaches
Dessert/Snack - Blueberry muffin
Dinner - Buffalo chicken/Muenster sandwich, "cheetos"
What did you eat yesterday?

I have a box of the riblets in the freezer. I need to get some hamburger buns and have them that way.

You attended a very big high school.
The high schools in the city that I attended school in, would not have had 1,000 students all combined between the schools.
As a result reunions are not much of a thing here in our neck of the woods.
Yesterday was Thursday, we had our delicious pizza that we ordered from our favorite place.

@LindaOHio The enrollment at my high school in my 12th year was only 400 in total of all of the grades.

@Juliaacv Our school was like a zoo; and so large. You had to hustle between classes. There were 3 floors to navigate.

@LindaOHio When the Powerball gets this big, why not just toss a couple bucks in for a ticket? You just never know.

I graduated from high school many years ago but have never gone to a reunion.

I keep in touch with classmates through email and Facebook. It's too hard for me to navigate going to the reunion.

Yes. That's why everything is taking so long in our government. Trump has trimmed all the organizations down to a skeleton staff.

All the departments Trump is setting down is so idiotic. Being an older person I worry about disease outbreaks and such.
60th year? Wow. Yes, time does seem to fly by doesn't it?

This is probably going to be like the National Weather Service…they canned tons of people right before the hurricane season started, then had to re-hire them all. As we head into cold and flu season we may see the same thing.
I had chicken & cheese stuffed baked potato for lunch and chicken & rice for dinner. Apples, fiber, yogurt!

I won't win...that's a given. I think there have been too many people laid off or terminated from these organizations for them to be efficient.

We received a notice from Social Security Disability yesterday and the appeal for disability is pending... Again.
I ate scrambled eggs with "stuff" in it for breakfast yesterday, ate something for late lunch, I'm sure, and had a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit for late supper.

Last night's supper was farmer crazy. And tasty. Home apple pie- sweetened with chopped dates. And sliced tomatoes with a home basil walnut dressing. Somebody left home grown tomatoes on the gym pool counter. I nabbed two. Store tomatoes are the worst. These were good.

...and I definitely have my ticket, and plan to buy more before the Saturday drawing. Man, that would be one nice loot to put in my pocket. Fingers crossed.
For dinner my aunt is still in town, so we hung out at my sister and brother-in-law's place, and we cooked pork steaks on the grill with a Serbian salad (modified) and corn on the cob on the side. Good eats!

Yesterday, I had a simple day food-wise. Started with oatmeal for breakfast, grilled chicken salad for lunch, and homemade pasta for dinner. Ended the day with some dark chocolate for a snack
