You need to buy vegetables.

So I visited the doctor yesterday. I went in to the appointment expecting her to prescribe one of the new, expensive, inject able diabetic medicines. We had discussed one before. I had looked at my labs online and I knew I had not shown improvement in the last three months.
My doctor says often my insurance does not approve this medicine. She also said my numbers were still "in control" and her belief is "the less medicine, the better."
I know what I need to do, and what I need to leave off. I have developed a nervous habit so to speak of eating buttered saltines. Not because I am hungry, but because they are available, and that was a comfort food when I was a kid. I even ate them a lot during my first pregnancy. Just typing this is making me want to go get some.
Doctor says rather than buying them, or paying for an expensive medicine she had rather I eat more fruits and vegetables. And that is reasonable.
I had a really good salad for supper.

Our produce prices have skyrocketed. I have been so thankful to have what I managed to grow, despite the bunnies thinking I was running a buffet. I have been eating fresh tomatoes every day for weeks, we have fresh carrots and still have cucumbers and green bell peppers. They won’t be going to waste!

I started on one of the injectable diabetes meds a few months ago. My numbers were still at the pre-diabetic level but, since I went over that once, I am a diabetic. (I do NOT agree with this!) The doctor said the injectable will also help my kidneys function better. I had to have a liver test a few weeks ago to make sure the shot didn't cause any problems there and it was fine.
I already eat lots of fruits and veggies. I'm glad you enjoyed your salad.

My doctor has called me back after having blood work done. She said the numbers were all quite good but now she wants to see me again. The appointment is for this afternoon so I'll know more soon.

I ate them with my first two pregnancies as well. Definitely not buying them may be good for you. Hopefully you like fresh veggies and can replace the saltines with the veggies fairly easily.

That sounds like a reasonable idea. I will join you in having a salad today.

Filling up on veggies really helps me control my diabetes. It really does help me to not snack.

Vegetables are better for you. I try not to buy a lot of junk anymore because I eat it even when I am not hungry

Buying fruit and veggies will improve your health and be cheaper than buying the medication. Try to stick with it.
