Still haven't received a call from cousin #3 which I find incredibly rude. Cousin #2 called her yesterday to check on me; so I know she is able to communicate. What do you think? Am I overreacting? Breakfast - Protein bar Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Chicken breast stuffed with broccoli, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, apricots Dessert/Snack - Banana chocolate chunk muffin Dinner - Chicken/Muenster sandwich, chips, fruit cocktail What did you eat yesterday? Are you sure you don’t want to hire someone from a reputable service? She’s so rude. Yesterday I ate too little to mention because nothing stayed down.

Not at all. Fire her. It's that simple. For dinner I made baked chicken thighs with a red sauce pasta and buttered kernel corn on the side. Good eats.

@porwest The problem with using a service is that most have a minimum of 12 hours per week @ $25-26 per hour.

@LindaOHio Time to make a hard decision, I think. I really do think that. This is not doing you any good.

I guess you are going to have to decide whether or not you want to put up with her behavior.

I think cousin #3 is rude, unreliable and certainly thinks you will put up with her behavior since she obviously thinks you need her, Last night we had pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and carrots.

I can’t even remember what we had for breakfast yesterday. For lunch and dinner, we just had rice with fried chicken and mushroom soup. We don’t really have snacks, since eating rice three times a day already makes us feel full. That’s why I can last the whole day without snacking.

Usual for lunch, I had a Boca burger with cheese and hash browns with Ranch Dressing Mix (not the actual dressing, but the mix you use to make it) for dinner. Mixed berry sorbet, banana, fiber, yogurt!

You need to find someone you can depend on... Cousin #3 isn't it. Call the local department on aging and ask them to help you find someone you can depend on. I know I ate chicken taquitos yesterday (I washed the plate I microwaved those on this morning.) and I'm sure I ate a sausage, egg and cheese croissant for supper late last night. (The package for it was in the kitchen trash this morning.) Unless something happens while I'm eating, I often can't remember what I ate... My meals are the same things a lot of the time.

@DaddyEvil The problem is most of the agencies require 12 hours per week. That's over $1,000 per month.

Your cousin needs to be straight with you on what she will do and what she won't do. Yesterday was our day to host our friend. We had supper at an Irish pub- fried shrimp for me. Hubby wanted pretzels and cheese. Friend had a taco salad and our other friend had corned beef egg rolls.

Cousin #3 may well have a problem with something right now, but that hardly calls for how rude she has been to you. You are going to have to find someone when cousin #2 moves away soon, maybe you can start looking now. Ideally you can find someone who will cook you some meals every week, even if she will have to freeze some for you, and then take you to where you need to go. You don't want to find yourself with no one at all, that would not be good.

@LindaOHio And cousin #2 leaves like right after Christmas? That will be here before we know it...I would talk to #2, and tell her you cannot go on like this and you have to hire someone else or it will all take forever. Plus, it doesn't seem like she would have much time to help you with everything at home, plus take you to all appointments, etc. I would think she would be busting her tail for you, considering you are leaving her a house to live in, but hey...I'm not her so I can't judge her.
