What Have I Been Up To?

I've been away for awhile and that is because first we went on a trip to New Jersey to visit my brother and sister in law. This is one of my husbands older brothers and we haven't seen him since their mom passed away around ten years ago. It was a nice trip but long!
We left around noon on Tuesday after Veteran's Day after stopping at the post office to stop our mail while we were gone (but they didn't)--go figure!! I also forgot to call and complain about that. I had stopped in there twice and the postmaster was not in, so it went back on the mental to do list and then poof. We had planned on leaving Monday, but wanted to stop the mail and post office was closed, so waited to stop it for NOTHING!
We drove straight through the day and night and following morning shifting the driving and arrived around noon in the city my brother in law lives in. Since it was too early to check in, we went straight to their house and visited for awhile. Then we went to crash!!
The photo above is of the bridge that crosses over the Delaware River.
I'm not going to catch up but have been reading your posts here and there and commenting when I can. More soon!!

Yeah, photos don't work again. Hopefully soon.
I hope you had a good trip. You should have asked a neighbor to collect your mail while you were gone.

We had a great time! I noticed that photos were missing again. I do hope that gets squared away soon!!
We don't have any close neighbors. The ones we know the best are a couple of miles up the road and the lady has no driver's license, and the man is on hospice. So, no go there.

Wait a minute. . . Veteran's Day is tomorrow. Was it maybe Memorial Day? that is still a long day and a very long trip. I am glad you are safe. Those check in times are not always convenient for weary travelers. Good to see you back.

It wasn't too bad. Had to laugh though about the tolls in Maryland. I told hubby he was in the wrong lane, but he said nope! So I say anything else. He finally figured out that I was right and we had to laugh it off about our tickets that would be coming in the mail.

The US Mail service is terrible, and I am not surprised to hear they ''forgot'' to hold your mail while you were gone. Heck, here they deliver mail that doesn't belong to us half the time, we get mail for neighbors or whoever or no mail and sit here wondering just where our mail even is! So, so frustrating.

@MarieCoyle Maybe both! Mine has no brains. She will bring a package to the back porch or leave out by one of the boats in the driveway and then put mail in the mailbox. Why not just put the mail with the package or under it? That is what our previous mail carriers always did!!

That photo looks like the Delaware Memorial Bridge which one can use to enter NJ. I've crossed that one many times to reenter my home state. Hope you enjoyed the stay. Did you do any sight-seeing on your trip or was it just family getting together?

@dgobucks226 Very true! We all said on the next trip we will get out more! We did go out to dinner every single night we were there. The Brother in Law planned that and we got to go to all of their favorite restaurants and hangouts (bars). LOL
