How Far Would You Drive to Visit Your Favorite Business?

I saw this on social media the other day, and had a really good laugh about it. I shared it with my two kids, both of whom said, "Yeah, we would do that!"
I love me some Buc-ees! And unfortunately, there isn't a lot of them and they are spaced out all over the place. The nearest one to me currently is about 2 hours away, but they are planning to build one about 30 minutes away from where I live. If you'd ever been to a Buc-ees before, you know how big they are. The new one they're going to build is so big the federal government has to come in and widen I-75 and add a new interchange just to handle the traffic that will be generated by the new Buc-ees.
In the meantime, I'm going to do a u-turn and visit that Buc-ees that is 979 miles away. I'll see you in a couple of weeks!
How far would you be willing to go to visit your favorite business?

One of my pool buddies loves Buc-ees. She is pregnant and had a craving for their brisket sandwich. She literally tried to convince her husband to drive to the closest one in Virginia which is 5 hours away. He said no way.
I've driven an hour to visit Trader Joe's and LUSH but that's about as far as I'm willing to go.

The brisket sandwiches at Bud-ees are to die for. I would drive 5 hours for one. Well, and the chance to spend an hour shopping inside Buc-ees! lol

Oh wow, so people actually do eat at Arby's! I just thought that was a myth.

Knowing me..probably 2 + hours which coincidentally is how far Buccees is from me. I have been there twice, but one time I was already in the vicinity.

How'd you like it when you visited? I'll admit, it's a tourist trap for sure, but the appeal is legendary. Anytime I travel and pass by a Buc-ees, I make sure to stop and get a coffee, a brisket sandwich, some beaver nuggets, and of course some Buc-ees merchandise!

@snowy22315 The Buc-ees I visited in Alabama had a small seating area, but it was full. I guess they really don't want people lingering, they want to keep people moving through there as fast as possible.

Not that far, for sure! I've never been to a Buc-ee's but there is supposed to be one on the far side of Springfield from me, so maybe 80 miles away? I don't like to drive the 70-something miles to Springfield unless there's something I REALLY need up there, like two of my specialists.

If I drive to Springfield, I'll go see friends up there and maybe go to KFC or Burger King.

@DaddyEvil KFC and BK...two places that are not high on my list of restaurants to eat at. Don't get me wrong, I love both, but BK gives me bad heartburn, and KFC (at least the ones in our area) are all dirty and run-down.

Not far. We don't have any Buc-ees here. They'd have to be giving away gold for me to consider going very far at all.

Once in a while we drive about 90 minutes to some things. I do not know where any Buc ees are.

I wouldn't bat an eye to drive 90 minutes to visit a store I really like. From where I live, it's pretty much 90 minutes to get to any of the big cities in Florida: Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Daytona.
My first time visiting a Buc-ees, we drove 6 hours to visit it. Well, truth be told, we were on our way to New Orleans, but as soon as we started seeing the billboard signs, we just knew we had to stop at Buc-ees!

I went to Buc-ees this morning! I first visited one about two months ago when I was in Texas, and we passed through on our way to Disneyland today. I love their Beaver Nuggets.
But I won’t drive more than 30 minutes to a store I love. At least I can’t think of one that would make me drive farther.

That's awesome that you got to visit Buc-ees! yes, their beaver nuggets are amazing. And so are their brisket sandwiches. And every time I visit, I always tryout a different type of coffee on their coffee wall!

I've never been to an IKEA, but I think the appeal is similar to Buc-ees. People will drive hours to visit one. I know I would love IKEA if I visited, which is why I've been so hesitant to drive to one. I just know I'll keep going back over and over!

I think for most people, an hour is about the average time for how far they'd travel to visit a store or business. I'd say for me, normally, it would be about 90 minutes, since that is about the time it takes to visit the bigger cities of central and north Florida, including Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Daytona.

I only have my two feet so it would have to be real close, There are a lot of fast food places with popular names on the main avenue here but I have not been out since the sping ended,

I know it would be difficult since your transportation is your own two feet, but you have a Buc-ees so close to where you live! I almost want to drive over there, pick you up, and take you to Buc-ees just so you can experience it.

It's a gas station on steroids. In addition having over 100 gas pumps, inside the building is almost like its own shopping mall. They have freshly prepared food, gifts, and just about anything else you can think of. You can find just about anything inside a Buc-ees. Each location is huge. And saying huge is an understatement. Some people consider Buc-ees a destination unto itself.

I’ve commuted hours to a certain restaurant but that was via transportation so that’s why so long.

Not that far! That sign is hilarious. I've never been to one. Kentucky got its first one about two years ago and I think it's 3-4 hours from me

I thought the sign was hilarious too. It's not only a tribute to the expansiveness of Texas, but also how far people are willing to drive to visit a Buc-ees.
I know 3-4 hours might sound like a lot, but if you ever get the chance it is worth it to visit a Buc-ees. But be prepared, they are huge and ALWAYS crowded!

We don't have one that far from here. We actually visited ours a couple times before my husband had his stroke.
But, I wouldn't go THAT far. furthersst I've been was to Jacksonville to go to Popeyes, but that was where the hospitals were so... it was a reward. I had always (and still) hate needles and blood work. But, here in Daytona there's a pop eyes so I don't have to go that far anymore.

The photo was taken in Texas. And if you’ve ever been to Texas, you know big it is and how many hundreds of miles it is between cities. It’s probably normal for people in Texas to drive hundreds of miles to visit their favorite stores. But I wouldn’t drive that far, even though Buc-ees is one of my favorite places.
