I'm a Snow Person

I noticed for a couple of hours that the house seemed really cold. Finally around 5 am I went and checked the thermostat. Just as I suspected...it looks like the batteries are dead. Aside from the fact that I couldn't get the case open, I can't stand long enough to mess with it. It's already 64 in the house.
I tried to call a local heating & ac company and got their answering service. If I can hold out until around 8 am, I'm going to call cousin #3 and see if she or her husband can come over to replace the batteries. In the meantime, I'm that sad snow person in the picture.
Brrrrrrrrr.

@LindaOHio - I am glad, my husband also hates a cold house, we have several space heaters "just in case".

@LadyDuck Hubby had a large space heater; but I figured the heat would be fixed fairly soon.

Oh! I hope that soon the battery is changed. It's awful to be like that sad snowman. This one looks cute though. But not fun to be freezing though. Here too the temperature is dipping, very unusual for our city to be this cold.

I'm so sorry. Hope the cousin was able to get it fixed for you. This is no time to be without heat.

Well you need to bring out some heater. Plus wear all the layers of clothing - heavy jackets, thermals etc.
And hopefully things get sorted out for you soon!

Ouch, that hurts. Those things never go out when it’s sunny and 72, do they.
Hope you have it fixed by the time you read this!

@JudyEv I can handle the heat better than the cold. I can turn on my ceiling fan.

Hope you’re able to stay warm somehow. I read the title and thought you’d changed into loving snow.

@MarieCoyle I have gas heat which isn't so expensive. I always am checking rates too since I can change from one supplier to another.

We are keeping the heat turned down lower than I care to. Our electric rates have skyrocketed here.

That's weird, I am having a simliar issue, but not sure it is the batteries because the display is working.

I just had a heating & ac company come out in April to check both units; and they were OK. I figured it must be the thermostat. If the display is working, then it's probably not the batteries. You may have to call someone. Try and stay warm!!!

I hope you get those batteries changed. When it gets cold in Florida, I would rather see snow than just freezing in the cold. I keep imaginging an alligator frozen in ice,
