A nice sendoff for Rod.

As you know, my friend and band mate, Rod, passed away in November. Yesterday, a service was held for Rod at a church in Brentwood CA, where he lived.
Near the end of the service, several of us got together to play some of Rod's favorite tunes. We had all played with Rod in various bands over the years.
I sang lead on Angel Band, an old favorite of mine. I'll see if I can find a link to the version from O Brother Where Art Thou. Or maybe Emmylou Harris's version.
Sending a friend off is difficult. But I am glad I was there.

I’m glad you were able to attend. I’m also glad you were “there” when he was alive!
Love the Stanleys’ version of “Angel Band.”

I love O Brother Where Art Thou. I will have to take a listen again to Angel Band.

I am glad you were there and took part in your friend's memorial service. I know how hard that can be.

It's very hard to lose a good friend. I'm glad you honored him in such a way with the song and your presence.

Hugs. I am not good at losing friends. I pride (extra) myself as very logical and pragmatic person. But losing a good friend...I can drown the town. Two of the dogs I used to feed are no longer in this world. At least, I believe that to be true since they have not been frequenting their usual places. Right now busy pony ji.... case is in progress in the Apex court, aunty's taxes and remittances, and my rental agreements, and new laws and rules relating to them. One of my friends asked me to remove my picture online...she feels someone is doing black magic on me. I am unable to remove my picture from facebook. At least for another four months...I have to bring down my interactions. I wonder how with as much happening to dogs cows and calves in this country.

@TheHorse If you believe he's watching from heaven, he likely was singing along.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Good people are hard to find these days, it really sucks when one shoots to the next life. There is definitely an empty filling when that happens.

It sounds like a beautiful tribute to your friend Rod. Hard & difficult for sure but I bet it was greatly appreciated by those who attended.
