1/5/26 - Meals

73 days until spring. When cousin #2 went outside to take the dog out, there was still light in the sky at 5:30 pm. YAY! Days are getting longer.
Well, we had our New Year's dinner last night; and at 3:10 am on 1/6 I am still full. We ate ourselves into a coma. Even the dog was lethargic. It was all so good.
Starting today I have contractors coming to give me estimates on work that needs to be done around the house. Cousin #3 discovered a leak under the kitchen sink; and I have 5 or 6 other projects that need to be done.
Breakfast - Granola bar
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Meatloaf (the meat was so gristly I gave half of it to the dog), mashed potatoes, beets (YUCK) and pears
Dessert/Snack - Low salt nuts, 70% dark chocolate
Dinner - Pork loin, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, broccoli, stuffing, apple crumble pie

That's good you enjoyed the meal though. 73 is getting closer, but what's the countdown till summer? lol. It's been a weird winter - not even that cold yet. Right now it is 47 degrees out! Maybe February and March will be brutal, but so far it's been warmer than usual and rainy.

@LindaOHio Yeah that is good. I've liked that I haven't had a frozen car in the mornings very often this winter (yet)

Glad you enjoyed your New Years dinner
Hope the leak under your sink is an easy repair. its always something when you own a house.
I found this Marketside Caesar Salad kit at Walmart and it's delicious. We had it last night with some grilled chicken. I added two more bags to my next grocery order

Yes. At least I am not a procrastinator like my husband was. When something needs to be fixed, I get it done. I still miss him so much.

I am glad to hear your belated holiday dinner was so good.
The son wanted orange chicken, so I dug some chicken out of the freezer and made it for him. He seemed to really enjoy it.

We're talking about getting a pork loin or a pair of steaks in the next couple of days. 
I made hash browns for breakfast yesterday. They were delicious! I ate them with a mix of mayo and ketchup. No lunch and I ate steamed broccoli and two boiled eggs for supper last night.1 person likes this

I love potatoes. I was reading an article this morning about foods to avoid with kidney disease. It said potatoes and sweet potatoes. Man, they take away all the good stuff.
