I fell again...

Pretty and I started sorting boxes in the living room: Some for the trash and some we'll need to take to the garage for storage. I came into my bedroom to get dressed to go outside when I got dizzy and fell, hitting the right side of my head on my dresser. Pretty checked my head and said I have a huge lump but no broken skin. I am in bed, resting, with an ice pack and a bucket just in case. If I sit up or try to stand up, I get dizzy again. This is a fun way to spend my afternoon.

Hope you feel better soon. Keep an eye on your head. We don't want you to start acting nice and normal

@wolfgirl569 That's not what George tells me or that crazy old lady who wanders around your yard.

@Shivram59 I got dizzy and fell, tried to catch myself on the dresser and missed the handhold I was trying for.

If you feel dizzy you should call Pretty, my father did the same, he didn't call anyone, then he fell from his wheelchair when he wanted to stand up. Even though my father regularly takes high blood pressure medication, sometimes his body feels very hot. Hopefully your head does not have any serious injuries that could cause it to not work optimally.

@DaddyEvil you're welcome, that's why I'm always on standby, I only sleep about 4 or 5 hours a day.

@May2k8 That's about how much I sleep, too. I take naps at different times during the day.

Pretty is asleep a lot of the time when I'm moving around the house and I hate to wake her up. (She's grouchy when I wake her up and I don't like to hear her griping at me.) My BP drops unexpectedly at times, making me dizzy. Pretty made a doctor appointment for me. Thank you.

Oh no! I am so sorry, does your head hurt? A ice pack is perfect for the lump. Try to rest and take care.

@LadyDuck It takes around 15 minutes after I take it before I stop feeling dizzy. I usually either sit down after taking it or I lie in bed after taking it so I don't fall again.

@DianneN I fell a couple of weeks ago and she thinks I broke my nose... I cancelled the appointment she made for me then but I'll have to go this time. (I'm not happy about it but I agreed I should get this one checked out. My head still hurts and I'm not as coordinated as I usually am.)

No, i just get dizzy while doing something. I have medication for it but the medication can make me dizzy if I'm not dizzy already. I have to wait and find out if I'm dizzy before I can take the meds.

@jstory07 I can't wait when I need the bathroom. I've tried waiting to see when/if she'd do the dishes and she'll leave them dirty until everything in the house is dirty and then harass me until I go in and wash them.

Thank you. When I have trouble walking, there are still some things I have to get up and do, like use the bathroom, do the dishes and cook food. (Pretty won't do dishes or cook food for me.)

Sometimes I just get dizzy. I have pills I can take for that but have to be dizzy before I can take the medication. Otherwise, the medication can make me dizzy.

@lovebuglena If I could just take the medication every morning, it would save me from falling a lot. Usually, I fall on the carpet somewhere in the house. Twice I haven't been lucky and banged my head of something lately. (The first time I hit my face on the kitchen counter and Pretty thinks I broke my nose. The second time was falling yesterday.)

Yes, I went to the ER and was x-rayed. The doctor said I have hydrocephalus. I have an appointment to see a specialist in about 7 months.

Ouch! hope you feel better soon. Head bumps aren’t fun. Rest up and don’t ignore it if it keeps spinning. Might be worth seeing a doctor, just in case.

I'm fine now, thank you. I am dizzy a lot of the time but I stay close to walls or cabinets so I can grab when I feel myself falling. I just missed catching anything the last two times I've started falling.

@misunderstood_zombie I told my doctor that I'd go to the ER in the morning for head x-rays to make sure I don't have bleeding in my skull. I'm not nauseous but I don't feel right, either. The problem is that I'll have to walk to the ER and I'm worried I'll get dizzy and fall on the way there or home again. (My car is in the shop being worked on right now.)

I am sorry to hear this. Falling is bad enough but when you hit your head on the corner of a dresser then that is different. Be careful and get rid of that knot.
