Looks like I am out about $200 thanks to being a complete ditz!

We have such a wonderful little downtown theater. Hubs and I saw a hilarious comic two days after we arrived in Florida. I took some brochures home and found an interesting play, so I bought the tickets online and chose really great seats. All I had to do was pick up the tickets the night of the show at the box office. Hubs and I knew the play was coming up and even planned to have dinner out before the show. Well, the show came and went. I totally forgot all about it and so did he, so I guess he’s as big of a ditz as I am. Can’t even remember what we did Saturday night.

That’s a real bummer. I know there is a good chance I’d forget too!

I’m so irritated. I don’t know what is wrong with my mind!

Sorry to hear that! I don't know that I have done that before...although I do forget things a lot so I would have to mark it down on a calendar to remember.

I did have “theater” marked on the calendar, but not the name of the show or curtain call. You are too young to do something like that. I think that I am losing my marbles every day. There was a time when I never had to write anything down.

@DianneN Well that is good you did write something down, but sorry that it was not enough... Maybe I am too young, but I have a horrible memory....have for a long time.

What a bummer. Well, we all do things like that now and then

It is a bummer. Perhaps I would have been better off if I had the tickets at home on my dresser or desk or in the bathroom as a reminder. Lol!

I will forget appointments now so I set an alarm on my phone and give the alarm a name like: Doctor Hurt with the appointment time/date so I'm showered and dressed in plenty of time to get there before the appointment. I check my alarms every day and tell Pretty when something is happening according to what I've listed and when my alarm is set for me to make it there on time. When I step out of the shower and am going in to get dressed, I tap on her bedroom door and ask if she needs a shower before we leave. So far, we haven't missed anything. I'm sorry you guys missed your dinner and a show Saturday night.

The neurologist office just called. I wrote the date, time and address down and then put the same information into my phone with an alarm set two hours before I'm supposed to arrive. That gives me time to shower, dress and wake Pretty up so she can shower and dress before we need to leave. The drive is roughly 40 minutes from our house. We usually sleep during the daytime and are awake at night. So they woke me up to make the appointment and I'll have to try to sleep the night before we need to leave for the appointment. (Pretty can sleep in the car while I drive if she's too tired.) We don't even own paper calendars anymore.

I’m old fashioned and use a paper calendar for every single thing. I did write Theater in my calendar, but never wrote the name of the play or what time was showtime. I intended call the theater on Friday, but totally forgot to do that, too. We were busy buying a new carpet for our living room and then had my Friday date night martini.

What can I say? Things happen. I try to remind myself of what is going on every day but then I am only in my apartment and not much I can forget. You cannot get the money back for the tickets, I suppose.

I didn’t realize we totally forgot about it until last night, and have no idea what even made me think about it. No, there are no refunds. If I couldn’t make it, I could have given the tickets away to friends.

I’m really sorry, too. Whatever the play was looked awesome when I originally booked it.

You just weren't in the mood to go anywhere and you supported the Arts. Way to be.

If you sat around drinking Martinis, it was a good call.

It was a gin and tonic. Maybe that’s why I forgot the theater.
