Automated Calls From a Medical Center/A Rant

Please ignore this. It's just a rant. When I was in the ER, there were so many people around that, even if I'd had paper and pen, I couldn't have kept track of them all. The ONLY person who gave me their name as opposed to wearing name badges that I couldn't read, was a technician who told me his name was George. I just got a robo-call from the medical center that said it had a "couple" of questions about my experience. Of course, it didn't tell me what each person did for me, it just told me a name and asked what I thought of their "assistance". Since I didn't know who it was talking about and it, being a robot, had already ticked me off, I rated each person as low as I could. After asking me to rate the tenth person by name, I hung up. If they REALLY wanted to know what I thought of each person, including the person who scrubbed the floor, they would have asked me right after each step, pointing out the person they were asking about while telling me exactly what that person did for me, NOT days after they performed their service. Obviously, I don't remember now.

A rant worth sharing. How the heck would anyone remember? I had a text from the hospital the day after my ER visit. At the end, they asked if there was anyone I felt deserved to be recognized, and if so, what was their name. Way more timely than your phone call. And wow, that sounds like a lot of people to rate!

Even the day after my ER visit, I couldn't have answered their questions. If a person had called, I would have told them the head nurse was extremely helpful and explained exactly what they'd found with the x-rays. (I tried to call back and explain that but couldn't get through to a live person.) The technician, George, was overworked but deserved a raise for everything he helped me with. (We actually told him he should come home with us just so he could get a rest.) Everybody seemed to be calling for him to come and do something for them. He was there when we arrived and said his shift didn't end for hours after we were leaving. (We were there for hours that didn't seem to end.) Thank you for listening and understanding.

I am not a fan of robots on phones. My husband sure could tell somebody something they would not want to hear about ER treatment.

I've ranted before about the Q-tip rammed through my skull when the ER thought I had Covid instead of listening to me tell them I had a really bad allergic reaction. I STILL get mad when I think of them making Pretty walk home that night.

@akalinus I'm sorry that happened. Robo-calls are frustrating, at best. How have you been doing? I haven't seen you on myLot in a long time.

@DaddyEvil I remember them scraping brain cells as out several times. I hope they were happy. I did not know who anybody was and they asked so many questions that I gave up too.

I hate those kinds of polls or surveys. Nothing in it for me. I once got a call from a person about a particularly bad ER visit, after I had confided in the nurse for our Primary how upset the nurse in ER had made me. Someone from the head of the clinic called and asked for ALL the details, as she had had me in tears.

Pretty told me not to accept any more calls like that. If it's a robot, hang up. I don't mind, usually, answering real questions from a live person but robo-calls should be banned.

I usually have a survey about my doctor vin my email box by the time I get home from the appointment. You are right to rant.

Medical places usually do phone surveys anymore. I don't like not being able to actually talk to a live person.

I'd be ranting about that too. I was asked to review my dental 'experience' but eventually sent an email saying send it in an email as I couldn't do it on the phone. Why do they think everyone is really clever with their phones? I haven't heard back and I doubt I'm likely to. It's all automated these days.

The machine was going so fast I couldn't understand half of what the recording was saying, anyway.
