Sleepless and Almost Brainless

I moved into the house the day before Valentines day and it's been a constant go. I am in so much pain I can't sleep at night and of course, my day function is waning.
Lately, I've had quite a bit of brain fog and will scratch my head later trying to figure how I did, wrote or placed something. In my psychology classes, we learned loss of sleep can impair memory, cause emotionally instability, and various other serious issues. I'm beginning to show those signs.
But what does one do when they can't sleep or when they do, they are in a constant lucid state "feeling" the pain? It's a horrid cycle and makes pain worse.
I'll be back soon to catch up. It's another day of sorting, donations, sales, workers and more.
Still no water regulator but he is coming Monday and resetting the septic as well. My son turns the water on briefly to fill jugs, toilets and then it's back off so it doesn't blow the water tank.
I hope everyone has a fantastic day.
The photo is of the chili I bought from Costco and it's amazing and quick. If you are near a Costco and shop there, these are worth buying. I put some over a salad last night for a fast meal.

We went to Costo a couple of times when we were in Raleigh (two hours away), but we weren't too impressed. I find better bargains at Walmart.

I'm sorry you're in pain and wish there was something the doctors could give you that would help.
Pretty buys that type of chili, just not that brand. I don't like beans in my chili so it's a good thing I can get it with no beans added.

@DaddyEvil I believe I am at the stage I need some, or at least something for night. Tylenol no longer works.

Thank you. I was surprised how good this one is. My son first bought it and he is so picky so it surprised me. I've been offered pain pills but have preferred not to over the years and just do Tylenol. I may talk to my doctor about something a bit stronger or even to help me sleep. I hate taking anything, even my arthritis meds.

I hope that you live through getting all this done. Loss of sleep can do so much damage. Can you soak in a bathtub? I would try some Epsom salts. It sure does wonders for me. Eat good too. That's important. Picture in your mind all the negative as positive and get some good sleep and then a good breakfast the next day.

@noni1959 ........I'm the same way. I don't think I've taken a bath or shower for about the same amount of time. I use wipes and have a plastic pan I use. Would sure be nice to get a nice soak. I'm sorry to hear you have arthritis too. Ugh!

@celticeagle It was hard to get a shower in my trailer even though it is self contained and can be used off grid. I was saving on water and propane, so boiled water and added to a huge pan to pour over myself. It got so old. I'd go over my former daughter-in-law's or the state park to get a proper shower but having to dress, drive, undress, dress and drive again got so old. I'm sorry you have arthritis.

Oh, no, Loretta! I am truly sorry you feel like that. You’re right about lack of sleep. My younger son has horrendous insomnia and has tried everything without luck, but without the pain you’re experiencing. I hope you can see a doctor about it.
I will check it out next time I’m at Costco.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain and can't sleep. I go 24-48 hours before I will conk out for an hour or so. I feel your pain!!! Lack of sleep affects my mood greatly; and I know it has other physical complications as well. I hope you get some good sleep soon.

@LindaOHio Two nights ago, I switched my mattress out for a new Purple and it's amazing. I still have issues but the change is so welcome.

I'm sorry you are feeling so rocky, Loretta. If you are in that much pain, can you go to the doctor soon? I do know firsthand about trouble sleeping--mine is usually due to son being up and down when HE is in pain, so it's an endless cycle that someone is going without sleep.
It has to be hard to not have the water turned on. That puts a big damper on things for you and for your son. I sure hope they get it all the way it's supposed to be Monday!!

I talk to my doctors often and see my primary in Oregon the end of April. My RA is switched to Olympia now and I'll see him in July. I know they will give me something but I have to drive often and worry the affects. I do plan to call my primary tomorrow and ask about what is something that won't affect my heart and help take the edge off. I have 1-3 years left of my pacemaker battery and don't want anything that will speed up or slow down my heart and make the PM work more. We got the regulator done this morning and all is well so far. Seven loads of laundry today between my son and myself and still need to do our bedding and the girls beds. But, I'm excited for the showers!

@MarieCoyle I love your advice but...lol I have slowed a bit today after dropping off donations, meeting someone for a sale, stopping at the store for fresh veggies and cooking dinner.
I tried to catch up on several surveys tonight to earn Amazon GC. I'll be back on here tomorrow. My granddaughter has a play tomorrow evening so not sure for how long but really want to do catch up.

Water at last, YAY!! You guys have been through the wringer with that house. I hope it all works perfectly, it certainly should!
I am going to give you some advice you may not take, or even like. You are in now under a good roof and out of the camper, so...please slow down! Take care of yourself first, then try to pace yourself. The world needs its Loretta's!

I know not getting decent sleep can certainly affect you and I'm surprised you have brain fog. I'm sorry you're in such pain. Hope the guy shows up on Monday and get the whole water thing working.
I love chili and that chicken chili sounds good.

We had the regulator put on this morning, plumber run the pipes to clear from us using for the week without the pressure of the special unit and we got to wash all our things! My son bought a fancy wash/dry set and I've learned to use it already. The showers are so amazing!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I really hope you can get some help.
Yes lack of sleep really does cause all sorts of problems. Sometimes I'm so tired I actually can't speak properly, and I can practically feel my thoughts sluggishly moving through my brain
