A funny sign

One of the people selling wares at the Nungarin markets had a collection of signs for sale. I thought this one was quite funny. We have a few ‘ocker’ (redneck Australians, I guess) who can’t talk without swearing. They don’t even know they’re doing it and they wouldn’t know what you were talking about if you asked them to tone down the language. Some of his signs were very questionable but still quite funny.
We bought some fig jam, several books, a yummy rhubarb cake and half-a-dozen doughnuts. I might have bought several plants but we’re going away on Thursday for about ten days. We’re house-sitting for a nephew and will be looking after a retired greyhound.

Swearing has never gone out of fashion here. I do occasionally swear myself, because often there are no other words to describe the situation. I think Donald Trump has a lot to do with it!
They are talking about banning greyhound racing here in the UK, so all the greyhounds will be “retired” soon. I hear they make great pets because they surprisingly don’t need much exercise. Ergo, a lazy person’s ideal dog. If that’s true, I might get one.

Hello @Fleura
Thanks for confirming what I’d heard. As there is bound to be a lot of unwanted greyhounds soon, I might consider getting one. Poor things!

@Orson_Kart If racing greyhounds is banned, but not horses, I imagine this will be called class discrimination

@DaddyEvil I did have a strawberry rhubarb soda once from Poppi. It was okay. I just don’t run across a log things involving rhubarb, and I don’t remember seeing it at Walmart.

@AmbiePam I've never seen rhubarb at Walmart, either. Mom had two huge plants at the edge of the garden that she gave starts to friends in the spring so they could grow their own.
If you're really interested, I believe you can get a start from online retailers. They can be grown in pots inside, I think.

Rhubarb is good, no matter how you fix it. Mom used to make rhubarb-cherry pie when I was a kid. Oh, my goodness, it was delicious!

I would love to have a sign like that to put on my gate, so many people I come across use profane language and it's as if they do it just to get a reaction from strangers.
I've never heard our rednecks using strong language but they mispronounce so many words that it becomes funny just to listen to them.
Maybe you'll think this one is funny:

Cousin #2 can't speak without swearing. A rhubarb cake sounds yummy. House sitting for a greyhound sounds fun.

I know a lot of people who really talk casually without swearing and I find it funny and not really offensive. However, I never do such a thing at all. And my son doesn't swear too.

I might have still bought some plants and left them for the nephew to take care of while I was gone for ten days.

That's funny because another myLotter just posted about people swearing too much.
